Doing Crosswords With Fountain Pens

Yes - The Times (UK) with a Kaweco Sport EF and Diamine Prussian Blue. No problems :)

I'm also a crossword affectionado, but I usually use a rollerball. I just realized I can add some color to the crosswords by using my Kaweco Sport EF!

I have been doing the NYTimes crossword nearly every day for thirty years, and now use either my TWSBI Vac mini, 580AL, Lamy 2000, of Pilot Metropolitan. Various inks, but I like GvFC Carbon Black, Cobalt, and India Red. Also DeAtramentis Document Black. and I use a EF nib in all of them (F in the Metro) so I can write over the letters when my first answer was wrong. It isn't using a fountain pen that people comment on, it is simply using a pen instead of a pencil.

The best & coziest Day ever were returning home after Brunch after Sunday-go-to-meeting with the heavy newspapers. We passed the various crosswords back & forth between us...theirs in pencil, mine in Lamy fine. They were exceptionally knowledgeable (though modest) in countless fields. Ink was pretty bold, so only when I was sure.

Miss them.

I use a Parker 45 or a Chinese copy of a Parker 51, both fine points, with Parker blue black ink. The LA Times crossword is in my local paper.

FPs are the only things I use for my cross word puzzles -- usually several NYTs a day.  Like others, I use whatever ink is in pen I'm using.  Most of my pens are EF or F, none of the paper (even the published "omnibus" puzzle books) would qualify as "good"!  Still, no problems at all.
