Monteverde Copper Noir - Wow

I'm so ready to buy this ink in 90ml.

Well that's not fair. I can't afford to pay shipping from england for a bottle of ink.

Cult Pens sells 90ml bottles of Monteverde Noir Collection of inks for £12.46 each (VAT exclusive, for direct exports out of the UK), and offers free international shipping if the order total is at least £70 after discounts. That's just six bottles, or one bottle and a Karas Kustoms Ink Clipless with a brass or copper section. (I almost bought one.) Edited by A Smug Dill

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

boooooo. Someone smuggle in a bottle for me, drug-mule style.

Why would you need to order from England? The US Yafa site shows it's availability & most US suppliers (Both Pen Chalet & Vanness) show it in stock in the 90ml bottle.) No muling needed........

My american fun-bucks are all accounted for lately. currently waiting for the order form for the custom pilot 823 with a #15 Falcon nib to hit my inbox. I can swing $10-15. Not close to a hundred.

The damage for me has been about $400 (approx. US$300) so far this Fountain Pen Day.

I spent $300 on two vintage oversize eclipses in the past 30 days alone, 150 on a krone, a TWSBI vac mini and 580, and a boatload of ink. I'll have close to 200 different bottles of ink once the hero stuff and the 10 lamy special edition colors get here.

HERO just came out with a line of something like 12 colors, in 40mL glass bottles for about $5 each. I have the whole set on the way (should be here any day)

Welp now I'm screwed. I really want smoke and jade noir too. Might have to place a specific ink order in a few weeks from penchalet.

(I know this is not for you, Honeybadgers, because of your hang-up about bottle size, but...)Right now someone can buy the entire set of ten 30ml bottles in the Monteverde Noir Collection on eBay Australia for effectively $56. Last one left from the seller in question, at least for now. That's where I bought mine the last time that promotion was going.

That's in Australia dollars, of course. If I wanted to talk in terms of foreign currencies such as the New Zealand dollar, Canadian dollar or US dollar, I'd qualify the currency symbol accordingly, instead of just using the $ symbol in the local/default context.

That's... tempting. If shipping isn't a killer to the USA, that puts the price low enough that I could tolerate it.

Have a link?

Found the seller, he won't ship to the US.

No? https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/uploads/imgs/fpn_1541404560__monteverde_noir_collection_-_peters_of_kensington_ebay_listing.jpg

I'm not affiliated with that seller/business/company, other than having been a happy repeat customer. It's a somewhat quirky local department store, mainly a bricks-and-mortar store, and we enjoyed some good customer service and good prices from it over the years.

...

I just weighed my set, and had a look at Australia Post's international parcel service charges for Joe Consumer. The retail package itself is about 1.15kg, and to send 1.5kg to USA, the minimum cost is $49.95 for tracked service and $42.95 for untracked service, so the seller's listed postage charges for the goods are very reasonable.

...

I really shouldn't go look for such things.

Now I've bought another set in the Gemstone Collection for $55.20, for a Christmas present for someone who did me a favour today. I can just walk to one of the store's new outlets to collect it, so there is no delivery cost (except 'time' on my part).

Once I factor in shipping on that one (the cheaper one at the price you listed won't ship to the US), I wind up paying nearly exactly what I would retail in the US.

@Honeybadgers, I'm a bit confused now. Which "cheaper one"? I was talking about Peter's of Kensington all along – the same seller from which I just bought another set of the Gemstone Collection inks for $55.20 (which I originally put down as "effectively $56") – and I have linked you to screenshots I took, which shows that it ships to the US for $35. A$90.20 works out to just under US$65; I'm not sure whether eBay will knock off the 10% Goods and Services Tax component when you're ordering overseas from an Australian retailer to directly export the items.

There was one seller selling it in the 53 AUD range. But wouldn't ship overseas. The other, that you linked, after shipping, is around 65 to 70. Goulet sells it for 70. Given that small a price difference, I'd rather support Brian. If I could get it for around $50 usd, I'd have jumped on it.

I'll survive a while. I have the twelve new colors from HERO showing up, just got a new r&k, and have all ten limited edition lany inks on the way. I already have almost 200 unique bottles of ink. I'll get around to this stuff eventually.

I hate coming here.....$$$$...that is one hell of a grand ink....and my 'needs' have increased yet again.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

If you have seen Bo Bo's vintage german stuff, you know exactly where his money goes.
