Fantastic nib - smooth and consistent line. However, I’m not really convinced by the converter: mine doesn’t work really well (it takes a lot of time to fill less than a half of the “cartridge”).

Think you should try another of the converters (or dissemble this to clean it and re-grease the seal), mine works quite smoothly.

The Peerless is a marmite pen. The F nib is smooth and suits the pen design. It is imposing but not a shirt pocket pen.

 

I am unsure of any other American-Japanese collaboration.

Some of the brands in CFP (nibs.com) can be said to be American-Japanese collaboration. Dunhill-Namiki of the yesteryears comes to mind too

AFAIK, Dunhill is a British brand.

 

The Peerless is similar to MB 149 when it comes to heft, probably heavier.

An AK47 FP would have been a welcome addition to the lineup.

 

It is also available with an XF nib, if you can find it.

 

The Peerless, IMO, is a VFM pen for its size, nib quality and heft.

True, but I was highlighting the American-Japanese collaboration with the Peerless whereas Dunhill-Namiki would be construed as a British-Japanese collaboration (started in late 1920's).

CFP is also selling P125 nib-sections separately here, so it might be AK47 roller-ball + a nib-section

I went for the “combo” AK47 rollerball + Fine nib section: both are a pleasure to use.

The combo fix would be the only option.

 

The XF nib would be a nice addition to the collection. Nothing like a Japanese XF apart from an XXF.
