Hi, everyone!

New here, and just did a brief introduction yesterday.

Wanted to share a review we did on the upcoming Montegrappa Revolver (limited edition) from the Cult Collection.

This is a truly amazing pen with some super unique features - acts like a real revolver without any of the dangers!

Feel free to check out our review here: https://www.truphaeinc.com/blogs/truphae-news-and-stories/montegrappa-limited-edition-revolver-stainless-steel-fountain-pen

Would love to hear others' thoughts on Montegrappa - one of our favorite brands for the best metalwork!

It's a little strange. A cross between a knife handle and an applicator.

The nib and pierced work are very nicely done though.

Just looked at the picts with the review and I know it's not something that catches my attention or PP account.

Good selling. And thanks for the heads-up about the pen.

Also, I would hate to have it confiscated by the TSA who might not recognize a fountain pen as a writing instrument.

They were not messing around with the name "Revolver". It is a nice pen but not really my cup of tea. IMO, it is a bit tacky, almost gaudy even.

Yeah, I can see that! But yes agree on the actual design work - Montegrappa really does some of the best nib and metal work.

It definitely has a pretty specific appeal. Something more to talk about and show off then necessarily use every day...

More of a showpiece than a functional pen. Looks really well made and definitely not as gaudy as the Pirates and Chaos pens.

This pen is not my thing though. If I were to buy a pen as a showpiece I would be more interested in a Maki-e pen than something like this.

I would be very interested in more details about the new filling system "POWER-PUSH" and how it works.

Sure thing! We have another power push filler coming soon, so perhaps we will do a review on that new filling mechanism. It’s truly innovative and unique. Although gaudy, the Chaos was always my favorite Montegrappa. As a friend of mine always said, “different strokes for different folks!” I think gaudiness can be appreciable when you really take in the amount of work that was done to make each detail perfect. I agree, though, it’s definitely a showpiece!

Really cool mechanism, but confusing design. I don't see the appeal of having a bulky, non-functional thing on your pen. If the revolver held ink cartridges though...

Hello. I am new to the forum. I live in Oklahoma and have had a growing interest in fountain pens. My primary collection is with Montegrappa for a variety of reasons.

I write because I happen to own the Montegrappa Revolver among other LE pens. The Montegrappa Revolver is actually one of my every day use pens. By no means is it just a show piece and meant to reside on a desk. I keep it close at hand in my pants pocket protected in a leather case.

The pen writes with surprising ease both in the nib design and the ease of holding a pen. Montegrappa ensures all their LE pens, that may be known as big metal pens among collectors, are usable and comfortable to hold. I pull out the revolver pen when writing in my journals and when taking notes with patients.

The power push fill mechanism is also easy to use. Simply place the nib in the ink bottle and one simple push fills the reservoir.

The pen is solid, made of 316l stainless steel with almost a blue grey tone to the steel. The wood handle is 4200 year old naturally stained bog oak. The revolver cylinder uses precisely made faux bullets that can stay in the chamber or be easily removed. As a gun enthusiast and reloader, I am impressed with this pen. As a pen user, it's one of my favorites.

The pen may not be for everyone, that's okay. It was not designed to fit everyone. For those who do appreciate it, they will be getting a complex constructed pen that took three years of development to make from Montegrappa. No other pen manufacturer comes close to this pen. The next pen that is coming out from Montegrappa will only top this one but from different angles. It will also use the power push mechanism.

Let me know if you have any other questions about the pen.

I use revolver chamber as a concentration piece. It spins with ease and I often find myself lightly spinning it when thinking in-between notes. It's meant to reflect the spirit of the revolver and also be playful at the same time. Another way to look at this pen is the variety of textures it provides. The chamber and spinning the chamber provides one, the feel of the steel provides another, the texture of the wood yet another, and the grace of this nib on paper makes me smile with every use.

The workmanship looks fantastic. As a full time fiddler, I can see spinning the revolver piece. Thanks for the review.

Moved this to the Italian forum as it is not a proper review.
