Anyone In Memphis Area?

Anyone in the Memphis area up for a get together? Its a fountain pen desert here!

You should come to a Memphis Calligraphy Guild meeting (first Monday of each month; 6:30 pm at Church of the Holy Communion on Walnut Grove). One of our members regularly carries around two full-to-bursting pen cases full of pens. His collection puts mine to shame.

 

Menage on Perkins carries a few fountain pens and inks.

 

Other than those, yep, it's a desert. I have traveled to Little Rock before just to meet up with like-minded folks.

I know I am few months late, but I'll be soon moving to the Memphis area (middle of August) and would love to get together with some like-minded pen folks!!

+1 to Stax and Otis. They are from my days in Memphis ('67-'71) at what is now Rhodes College. I bought my first Montblanc 149 from a pen store downtown. The owner's son still sells pens on eBay.

 

Try doing a search on "Memphis" or "Tennessee" in the Members list here. You might come up with some names of folks to get a starter club going. Good luck!

Memphis guy here. Any update on Memphis pen people gathering?

Not that I am aware of, but I was just thinking about trying to get one going now that I am fully moved in and established! I am interested in maybe getting a monthly gathering going. There is the Calligraphy guild, but I was thinking something less formal. Any interest from Memphis folks to maybe try to get something going in October?

I bought my first Montblanc 149 from his dad in 1967, and bought another NOS 149 from him a few years ago.

 

He might be interested in starting a group, or would know who is interested.
