I have acquired a number of vintage Waterman pens already in my collection, including 2 with wet noodle pink nib, a Patrician Moss Agate with a lovely, big, flexible #8 nib, a hundred years pen, and a couple of pens with nice flex nibs. I thought I have a good enough vintage Waterman pen collections, until I saw this stunning NOS 1990 Waterman Ideal Le Man 200 Rhapsody Lapis Blue Ripple Marble pen that comes with a flexible O3B nib.

This is the iconic Waterman La Man 200 pen in its most beautiful variant, the Rhapsody Lapis Blue Ripple. The pen is special and unique in many ways. The build quality is extraordinary, made out of thick steel and lacquer finish with all gold plated metal parts. The pen is heavy and is a true oversize pen at 166mm posted, all of this gives it a unique feel in the hand and writing balance, it makes for a very special writing. The pen's nib is special as the old Ideal's nibs, this nib is hardly changed compared to those of 100 years ago, they are nearly identical both in design and also in writing experience. The nib is fully flexible, OB oblique broad which means it can produce any type of writing, extraordinary lines thin or thick depending on the angle its held, it can easily write sizes up to 3B or O3B. I usually hold it at 11:00 o'clock. It is smooth on the paper and with constant nice ink-flow. It comes with a pack of original Waterman cartridges and also the original piston converter. Very easy to use, clean and maintain, a great fountain pen. The pen comes with a box and papers. I ink it with Pelikan blue-black ink and it is writing like a charm. Love it. Here are some photos.

Nice looking pen but if I may correct the material specification, it's blue and black acetate (plastic).

The colour is purely termed Blue. Only the Red version has the Ripple attached.
