They look fine. But if one thinks that is what they are going to receive, then Bless Their Heart.

100% and 100 Positive Feedbacks ???

People bought it knowing it was a fake, they wanted a fake.

People who are stupid enough to think they are (a supergenius for) getting an $800 USD pen for $35 deserve what they get.

You can get a new Pilot Custom 74 which can be had in a traditional black and gold trimmed configuration. There are reputable Japanese sellers on ebay you can purchase a 74 within your budget or clise to it. The 74 come with excellent 14K nibs.

It is exacttly the way it came across, but I think it is a case of NEWBIE FEVER? The question of what he is looking for in a MB that so makes him/her to want a fake is crucial.

There are other pens - that could fit the goal if it is well defined for much less money. For my part, I refuse to buy a pen for the looks if it doesn't write well out of the box and... would never buy a MB because it is a status symbol, which I don't care for. Not THAT status symbol, just any. Our vanilty fills the pockets of the manufacturers which I think are also making less than perfect nibs so that nib "meisters" can trade on their defects. and so that they can ouptut great volumes without the responsibility.

Don't get me wrong, I acknowledge the expertise of some and the artful way of making a defective nib work smoothly, but... Isn't that expected frmo an expensive pen? The higher the price , it seems, the more one has to spend more money so they do what they are supposed to do well from the start. I know I have mixed two subjects here, but they go hand in hand.

I would suggest the person to save money till he gets a used one in good condition - and decide later if it is what he expected or dreamed about. Not always the case, not always the case....

  • 2 weeks later...

I recently orders this Rollerball from eBay. The pictures didn't scream fake and I figured I could always return it. What they sent was an extremely cheap fake. I didn't even have to take the pen out of the box the know its a fake.

Opened a case with eBay and going through the motions. It's scary to see others leaving positive feedback for the exact same item.

Well, they've sold (up to now) 23 in black and 32 Burgundy ones, and only 2 feedbacks stating they are fake. The mind boggles..... First time MB buyers? Good fakes?

You keep bringing up this seller. Why don't you bite the bullet, buy a pen and let us know how it turns out?

You can really only accuse these sellers of selling "fake goods" when they use the manufacturer's brand name in order to sell it. That's what's illegal.

When the word Montblanc is nowhere in the listing, you know you're safely buying some sort of a cheap pen that's nothing to do with Montblanc.

That's an excellent point, but I ordered one, and I'll post photos of what I get.

Is that going to become your daily writer? :)

You should do a breakdown and side by side comparison with a genuine one.
