Should I Use Only Ink In The Pen Or Water (Eyedroppered On Micromesh) And Ink When Using Micromesh?

I've seen a couple of videos on YouTube (The Pen Habit) where they only use the ink of the pen for lubrication when using micromesh, and videos (by SBREBrown) where he uses an eyedropper to put water on the micromesh before putting the nib to the micromesh.

Which way is more correct/better?

Thanks, (or) Hope that helped,

For nib smoothing either of those liquids work just as well. However, if you use water you will keep your micromesh cleaner. :)

When I'm polishing a nib (as opposed to coarser grinding and shaping) I do it with the pen filled with ink, usually simple, predictable Waterman blue, so that I can keep testing the tip on paper.
