Can We Replace The Nib Of A 51 With The Nib Of A Wing Sung 601

Now that is interesting, FarmBoy! What kind of filler does it have?

I see I never answered.

It is an X-105 pen so it is somewhere along the way to a front fill capillary 61 starting from a Vac filled 51. Noting that the original pen designated as a 61 filled from the front (nib) end and the barrel did not come apart while the pen we know as the production 61 was initially designated the 71. Note also that the original 61 pens are not Prototypes or Experimental or Test Market pens but were a production item that was withdrawn due to poor acceptance by the buying public. The original 61 was and remains a spectacular pen.

This pen has a fully hooded nib a perforated metal underfeed (between the rubber feed and the nib) and a perforated gold metal sheath over the nib/feed opening in the hood. I'm not brave enough to take it apart.

The model shop tag reads:

Interesting pen, Todd. Does it write?

I’ve never tried to ink it.
