Cheapest Place To Buy (Just) A Lamy Safari Converter

I recently picked up an Al-Star without a converter. Anyone have any recommendations on where I can source one for the lowest cost, including shipping, to California?

Thanks Collective Wisdom!

I've been known to go to non-Amazon retailers (Jetpens, Anderson, Goulet, etc. ) for a converter or other small items and then start adding stuff that I just *had* to have so that I either reached free shipping or the shipping charge (looking at you Goulet) would nicely spread out over the dollar amount :D

We each have our vices.

May be a long shot, but: your profile says you're near Sacramento. If you are ever in San Francisco, you can go to the Lamy store at 645 Market Street (near 2nd) and buy them in person.

Try calling or checking the websites of different art stores nearby? I just got an Al-Star too, and I'm waiting until I have a reason to be near a Kinokuniya, they tend to have good fountain pen supplies in stock. It's pretty much finding a brick and mortar, or pay to ship for a plastic tube... (or spring another two bucks and get it off Amazon if you have free shipping)

I have enough Lamys that I should probably just bite the bullet and buy a handful so I don't have to worrry about a onesy-twosy situation next time I get one. I wonder if they carry them at Daiso. There is one of those close by.

The Daisos I've been to have international standard cartridges, they're great! I don't recommend letting them sit around in your pen, they seem kind of cheap. But they get you out of a pinch. They don't have any proprietary stuff, though.
