Hi everyone.

My name is Pedro gomes, and i'm from Portugal.

My father loves pens, and has a pen colletion, and i just recently began to be interested in this topic.

He has been buying pens all his life, and it was always a good gift for him, so he has a very interesting collection.

To find more about his pens and more about pens in general, I've joined this incredible forum, and hope i can find more information and people who really know about pens.

Thanks for the welcome.

Greetings from Pittsburgh, PA! :W2FPN:

So what pens are in your father's collection, and what pens/inks do you like to use?

I generally suggest that new people click on the "View New Content" button, to get a good range of a variety of topics (you can adjust how often you get new messages in the side bar on the main page). And to have a look at the pinned Index to the Ink Reviews Forum.

it's only fair to warn you, though, that we are all shameless enablers here, and will help you spend your discretionary funds on pens, ink, paper, repair tools, sealing wax and seals, ephemera, etc.

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

Consider joining the Fountain Pen Network Facebook Group - lots of interaction there.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

Welcome Pedro,

It is always a pleasure to get to know people from across the planet. May I ask what type of pens do you collect? Do you have a specific era or brand in mind?

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your time here & find it resourceful!

Hi, i don't know about the shaving brushes, but the Port wine is amazing. If you like Port Wine you should try Beirão. I'll share the link to Beirão's website.

Hi Inkstaindruth, well thats a long name, lool.

My father as a few Montegrappa and a bunch of Montelex pens. Also a couple of Montblanc.

Some are fountain pens, but most are rollerball or ballpoint pens.

My daily pen is a bic pen, because i work in a shop, and i'm always afraid someone will take my pens. I only have two notable pens, a Montblanc Meisterstuck i received when i graduated, and a José António Tenente pen. His a fashion designer in Portugal.

I'm still learning how to add pictures in the gallery, but i'm going to post pictures of my father collection.

Hope to learn more things from all of you.

Cheers

Hello Andy,

Thanks for the welcome. I'm stil very fresh to this pen collecting hobby, only have 2 notable pens.

I haven't got any fountain pens, so never wrote with one. And the ones in my fathers collection are for investment purposes, so not to be handled.

Any sugestions for a newbie?

Cheers
