It is all your fault. You should have not told me about the Wancai. Now I want one (at least).

It looks so cute from the videos and the pictures! : ) I still can't decide between the swirls or the completely trasparent.

It seems as if the 0.38mm version doesn't sell as well as the 0.5mm version. The fine has reduced prices now (nearly 2 USD cheaper now).

Search Ebay, there are several offers.

Here are a few comparison photos. I think this is a cool pen. I hope that the Moonman letters dont rub off over time.

Vertical pens L to R:

1 Moonman

2 Platinum Preppy

3 Pilot Custom 74

4 Kaweco Sport in nib photos

In any one's experience, does this pen burp quite a bit? I was thinking of using it less than half full since I tend to rotate pens frequently.

Also, does the nib dry up when not used more than 3-4 days?

Good questions on dry-out and burping. Mine has yet to arrive.

I'm wondering about the #5 nibs. Do the Kaweco & bock nibs fit the feed better than jowo?

Also, this pen looks like it's a little chunky, which I like, kind of as a smaller 149. Is it like that in reality too?

Yes i’d say to moderately thick as you can see in comparison to the Custom 74 etc. I’ve had mine for more than 3 weeks now and so far have had no issues with burping or dry out.

Looking good Stompie.

Thanks Amber!

It was a hurried note to see how the pen holds up.

I must say, it stands for days and starts up right off almost every time I pick it up.

Not really an Extra Fine in my book but a very nice writer and, you cant see it from my note, the Simmer of the Diamine shows up nice in real life.

Moonman M2 with EF .38 arrived today!
Dipped immediately in J Herbin Pervenche, cause that's what I do. I want to feel how the pen writes. No go, lots of machining oils on that nib. So dipped it halfway up the section and got some ink in the feed and floating above the nib end.

I understand why folks who like EF/F nibs like this pen and why some compare the nib to the steel Sailor Procolor Fine. The M2 doesn't have the feedback, but it does have a distinct sweet spot. The nib looks like it's shaped and ground steel. If it's tipped, the tipping is whisper thin.

For me, the nib's sweet spot makes the pen easy to write with. It doesn't roll in my hand. And the pen is comfortable in hand, my fingers/thumb rest just ahead of the threads and section step.

Filled the pen with Pelikan Edelstein Tanzanite. This a drier nib/feed, the ink is a blue black. In a wetter pen, the ink is a deep blue.

Will have to take care setting down the stop-free cap and pen.

Had considered a clear eyedropper pen for some time. May get a second M2 for the F .5 nib or to swap in a meistered stub.

Thanks for sharing your impressions. Mine is still en-route. Do keep us updated, especially in case of nib swap!

I have switched all my pens for colors to the Moonman. Only one of them has a little bit start-up problems. I don't know yet if it is coming from the ink or if I need to clean the feed.
