Muji Aluminium Fountain Pen

Hello everyone, I have decided that I will be buying a MUJI Aluminium fountain pen. I saw on Amazon that it comes with only one single cartridge. I would like to know which brand's standard international cartridges or converter can be used with this pen? Lastly, I would really appreciate if anyone who owns this pen could post their personal review. Thanks.

Hi

I have one, it's in the PIF box waiting to go to a new home. I found it a bit too slim for me but it was still a very nice pen to use, the nib on mine was very smooth.

I think I used a Diamine short cartridge but I'm pretty sure it's long enough for a standard international converter or cartridge, as it takes international standard you should be good with any cartridge that is made to that standard.

There are two different Muji aluminium fountain pens - the more common one is a full-sized pen of a normal length, which is called the Muji Aluminium Round Fountain Pen. The other one is a short pocket pen in the Japanese style (short body, long cap), it is also made of aluminium, and it is called the Muji Aluminium Compact Fountain Pen.

Assuming we are talking about the full-sized / long one, it takes standard international cartridges (both short and long carts) and standard international converters. I own one pen of this model, and the converter that fits best is the Schmidt K5 Standard International Converter. Any Standard International converter should be ok, though. I have also tried a Monteverde Standard International converter in it and it also works.

For the short Muji pen, I do not own one, so I don't know if a converter or long international cartridge will fit. It definitely fits short international cartridges though.

I own both but currently used only the short / pocket one (Im waiting to limit the

number of inked pens here to then ink the bigger Muji).

I love the pocket Muji, really small (smaller than my TWSBI Mini), it becomes a

full pen when posted (thanks to the cleverly designed long cap) and writes really

well, really smooth.
