Three Danitrio Mikado

Recommended Posts

Realized I was carrying three Danitrio Mikado pens today and thought I'd share some pics.

From left to right: tame-nuri in light bengara (reddish brown) and ki-dame (yellow), irokeshidami-nuri (matte finish) in dark bengara and ki-dame, sakurakawa-nuri (cherry tree bark pattern).

Nibs left to right: broad, stubbish broad, and medium. All #8 nibs with ebonite feeds.

Thank you. Beautiful pens. Lucky you to own them and lucky us to see your pictures.

That is a beautiful grouping of pens. Danitrio seems to be the brand that most often makes my heart sing. I especially like the cherry-bark version, but the colors on the other two are beautiful.

I currently have only a Genkai Danitrio urushi pen. I also have a raw ebonite Densho. I would love another ursushi Danitrio, maybe in a Mikado size. Those are the three sizes that use an eyedropper fill with shutoff valve, which is the fill system that appeals to me.

The Sho-genkai, Junikaku, Yokozuna, and Kaijin are all also eye dropper pens from Danitrio, though far less common than the Mikado, Genkai, and Densho.

Those are truly beautiful pens you have. I realize this post is old, however I've been doing a lot of research on the Danitrio pens as I don't currently own one and was looking for a particular model and finish and stumbled upon this post. The first pen in the grouping from left to right (tame-nuri in light bengara & ki-dame) is the pen I've been looking for. The finish is absolutely stunning and gorgeous. If you don't mind me asking did you purchase this pen direct from Danitrio? I found one on ebay from Taiwan that I believe is the same with asking price of $1449. I would really like to add that pen to my collection and appreciate any and all info on the pen you may have. Thank you so much for posting this pic and giving me the opportunity to reach out.

Best,

Tom

Thanks for the note Tom. I live in Texas and have an AD for Danitrio, Dromgooles in Houston. They always have a few dozen for me to choose from. I have maybe 10 Danitrio pens now and am stoked by all of them. Happy hunting.
