Krishna The Earth Faux Iron Gall Ink

Recommended Posts

Krishna inks are produced in India by Dr. Sreekumar, a doctor by profession, and a fountain pen enthusiast by passion. It's not easy to get them but I received some samples and plan to review them.

The Earth is a faux iron gall ink - it changes color very fast once the ink is on page but offers no useful water resistance. The ink is a bit dryish but not too much. The color is a nice orange in the vial and for a second when you put the line, it fastly turns darker and, at least to me, less atractive.

It behaves a bit like chameleon as the color perceived on different papers varies strongly.

Thanks for this new review. Not really my taste especially for an IG ink -- which possibly/apparently "has to be" somewhere between a blue and a black -- but the name's inclusion of "Earth" looks good, maybe actually leaning towards a type of rust.

Whoa. Love the color, but I like darker brownish oranges. Wish they were eater to obtain. He seems to make some pretty unique colors.

Will you be doing a review of Orange Honey?

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

Okay, I admit, I like this one. It's the color of dirt. Not the color of dirt we have here in Nevada but how I imagine that dirt should look. Our dirt in some parts of the state is really RED. Krisha is actually more orange.

Krishna Earth is NOT an IG ink but has the feel of an IG ink. It sort of reminds me of paint or clay. It feels thick and is really opaque.

And even though I said, Iron Gall, it's not an IG ink, it's just LIKE an IG.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

My understanding of this ink is that its not an iron gall ink, but has the quality of changing color overtime similar to how iron gall ink changes color as it oxidizes, there is no ferric-gallic component to lend permanence to any writing created with it.

Ok.. that makes more sense, cause What's the point of an IG ink that is not water proof?

Cyber6, I don't know about the waterproof / IG aspect but I can say that I haven't used an ink quite like this one.

No, those are my shots, those are Nevada publicity shots.

Perhaps my scans make it look bright but it's not an Amber bright ink.
