Pls Help To Identify A Yard-O-Led Pencil

Would anyone be able to tell me the model and approximate date for this beautiful Yard-O-Led pencil? It has been well used - and well cared for - by my stepfather but now I am the lucky owner. Happily it has lead in it as I think I should find a youtube video before attempting to open it

I cannot help with the model, but the hallmark tells me that the pencil was manufactured in 1954.

I suspect there were no models of YOL pencils as such, maybe a part number visible? There are several of similar date on the Penamie website: http://www.penamie.co.uk/html/other-uk/other-uk.html

You could send pictures to YOL support and ask them?

Hi,

This is from the diplomat range and was made at Johnson and Matthey in London. I hope its in working order ,if not Yard O Led will sort it out for you.

If you are not familiar with these pencils you can jam them up .

NOS, thank you so much for the range name. It has been passed on to me and just opening and closing the top I have discovered it has lead in it.

I am not sure if it is in full working order, but I have sent an email to YOL.
