Here is a Jr. Statesman Fountain Pen.

It is made with Brecciated Quartz. That just means that at some point it was crushed up and then re-fused back together.

 

The fit isn't as good as I would like, but I'm getting better.

 

Comments and criticisms are welcome.

That sounds like an interesting material. Your description makes it sound like Visconti's lava-stuff where it's half powdered-rock half resin, but it looks like it has natural veins and inclusions.

Maybe my title is misleading . . . The quartz was a solid chunk of rock that I found. I had to use a diamond rock saw, diamond core drills, and diamond grinding wheels to work the rock.

 

It's taken a long time to accumulate the proper tools and jigs to work solid rock/semi-precious gems and turn them into pens . . . but I think it'll be well worth it.
