Review for Organic Studios Vanadium

This is part of Organic Studios' Elements series of inks. The ink is handmade in Maryland.

THE ELEMENTS SERIES – our take on a collection of the essential colors of any writing ink collection. These inks makeup a set of ‘simple’ colors, tasked with coloring the basic spectrum of pure colors. These chemistry-themed inks were our first foray into the ink world, and have stuck with us ever since.

This is a light "blurple" color tending towards lavender. It is similar to the element vanadium, but vanadium itself is variable in intensity of color. It would have been nice if this was darker with greater shading.

I do like this color, but it is very light, almost too light for use. I actually use the color for sketching because it is a bit more water resistant, and works for base sketching with watercolors.

Thank you for your review! I like Organic Studio's inks because of their sheen perfection. This particular one I didn't test up till know. For my taste it seems indeed too light.

Thank you for your comments. On the HP paper there was no sheen. I will try it on Tomoe River, however, and let you know. Truthfully, this is the first Organic Studio ink I have tried. I may have to try others, as there are things I really like about Vanadium, but need just a bit more intensity.

Thank you for your review. Indeed it is a bit light for me too. Nice name though. :P

Thank you for your comment.

Indeed, I do think that the ink is appropriately named. It does look like elemental vanadium. I do love, however, the look of vanadium when it is alloyed with titanium - it gives a bit of warmth to the gray of the titanium.

Thanks for the review. Reminds me of Waterman Purple!

Actually, I think Waterman Purple is a bit darker. But I no longer have any for comparison.

I did test Vanadium on Tomoe River paper. Yes, Vanadium does have some red sheen to it, but I had to really pool the ink to see it. It was not visible in the writing.

Ah! Thank you for your efforts! There are some inks which hide their sheen. I just recently noticed this and it is fascinating.
