I remember coming across this fabled pen in an older Rick Propas post, so I am thrilled to have acquired one from Regina Martini, who tells me that in thirty-eight years of collecting and trading Pelikans, this is one of only 3 or 4 M800 Lasers she has come across.

Similar to the Jade M800 prototype, this was made in Italy by Pelikan and Visconti. Because it was unauthorised by Pelikan Germany, they bought back and destroyed as many as they could get. Of the original 100 pieces, there may be only 40-60 still in existence.

Regina fitted this with a B (pf mark) nib, which is original for the pen's time.

Cool! Reminds me of the Waterman Opera. It's posted in the wrong thread - could you move it so others can see this rare hybrid?

Yes. Stupid of me. Sorry. I’ve asked the mods to move to the Adding to my Flock - 2018 thread. Thanks!

Gone all Pelikan ...

Thank you. The Laser, I think, will be the capstone of my growing collection.

Nice. What's that bright blue one?

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Tseg's blue pen is the M120 Iconic Blue, if that is the one you are taking about.

I just placed an order for the 120 iconic blue. Waited until I could find one at a better price, and did so on ebay, $149 from Tiawan

Was that with the fancy box and ink or just the pen with the standard box? I got mine with the standard box from Cult Pens for $148 ($106 GBP to USD) shipped with a free Pelikan leather single pen case. If you got and wanted the fancy box w/ink you got a good deal. I would rather have the leather case.

Pelikan 100N on it's way, purchased mainly for the nib size, guessing around a BB or larger.

Fourth 100N this year, love them.

Just the pen and box, I misread pricing on Cult pens, and did currency conversion based on their price with VAT. I did not care for fancy box and ink, nor did I need another pen case, so did ok.

I have made that mistake of looking at the VAT prices myself when surfing their site as well. It's easy to do. It's too bad they don't adjust the site for where you are from like Appelboom does.

Just ordered the Iconic blue M120 from Cult Pens with the free pen case. I promise not to post any pictures since I think we have enough of this pen in this thread.

I bought it for my beach home and it has a fine nib for just writing things and checks. I may post a pic with my small beach ink bottles just for another thread, but not this one.

I like pictures...and I frequently go through this thread to see pictures...I want pictures. I mean the point Im trying to say is that you should give pictures.

The pictures, Claud...hand them over!

Yes Sir. As soon as the 120 comes in, and I am at the Beach, I will do a mini photo shoot just for you.

Went to the Dallas Pen Collectors Saturday morning breakfast meetup this morning, having no idea that I would fill a hole in my Pelikan collection. Mike Walker, who had a bunch of nice OMAS pens as well, was offering a beautiful dark blue M605 with a 14C BB nib that had been ground to a very smooth left oblique somewhere along the way. It took about a half second to decide on that!

For the enjoyment of my fellow collectors, I brought my M620 Athens, M800 Royal Raden Gold, and M120 Iconic Blue. The Pelikan Hub is going to be fun this year.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.
