Adding To The Flock -2018

I closed a deal for a Pelikan Renaissance Brown with B-nib this evening. So this is going to be the first addition to my flock in 2018 - although of course not the first addition to the whole collection. Just the first addition to the Pelikan flock. And a very nice one as well. I´m really looking forward to it - let´s hope the postal service doesn´t dawdle...

Hahaha-yes-but thanks for asking. Now I need an old M750 to match.

Yeah, that's my problem... I have the M750 but no M760 !!

Ah well, it gives me a project to pursue.

Finally got my second Pelikan, an m205, bought used last November, it's a stunning pen, even more beautiful than I'd seen online. Smooth fine nib. It's probably my ideal pen: gorgeous transparent colour, rhodium, even the innards look very interesting in a techy way.

Souten came out light on this pen, I prefer it darker, trying with Callidolio Inti now.

I have a Smoky Quartz m200 joining the flock soon. Having said to myself that I would concentrate on m400 and m600... I'm finding the m200/205 demonstrators really quite irresistible.

So much for the idea of 'pen budget' and 'focus'....

Too many pens, too little time!

Finally got around to taking some pics, here's the 3 M4xx I bought in Nov/Dec.

I'd bought another black/burgundy M150 about the same time and the seller sent it in this nice little clamshell case - perfect home for these three birds, although I'm wondering if it's actually intended for cigars.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Bought my first Pelikan a little over a month ago. M405 Stresemann.

I’ve since fallen down a rabbit hole.....now Pelikan number 7 is due in this week. M400 tortoise “old style”.

Hope to post pics of the flock soon. Once the boxes stop arriving in the mail.

Must stop buying pens.....

I really like the black burgandy! I'm waiting on my first Pelikan to ship still. ^^

Be careful....they multiply quickly!

I already have been eying the cafe creme....

Not trying to enable or anything ;) , but the Cafe Creme is gorgeous and a must have! :)

As for me, I arrived at work today to find this beauty

sitting in my chair  . A nice surprise, since I wasn't expecting it for another week or so.

Gotta keep it locked, since my wife continues to try to "steal" it from me.

Edited to add: It is a M450.

Oh that is quite lovely! What a wonderful surprise to find. Haha, none of my family likes fountain pens, though I'm trying to get my younger brother into the hobby. I ordered my M600 in Turquoise & White last night. I decided to go big with my first one (plus I have read you can swap nibs between several of the other models and the M600).

The Cafe Creme will probably be my next one. I only have 4 pens including the one on it's way. So, after my wallet revives from this plus the extra bunches of ink, pen case, notebooks and what not that I got.. I'll start hunting down the other model and maybe some vintage nibs. :)

I'm still a little nervous about getting a new and expensive pen. I tried Visconti last month and was not happy. I ordered an EF, but I've heard/read that Pelikan tends to write wet & broad so the EF should be just right for my narrow writing style. Most of my pens are Pilots, so this should be a nice treat and more like a Japanese M I imagine.

I put a spell on you..

Having other family members that like FPs is not necessarily a good thing, you see, because now the pen budget is divided by two! :o

Not to mention that my wife now claims that all 400 sized pens belong to her!... and 200 sized! ... and 600 sized! :yikes:

I hope you like your Turquoise - It is a gorgeous pen. Let us know your thoughts when it arrives.

Pelikans indeed write broader and wetter than Pilots, but if you like sheening and shading inks, that is a good thing.

I also started only with EF's and now I think B is too thin :D , which is not uncommon around here.

Edited to add: ...and this

just landed (for my wife). Beautiful pen, stupid package: really difficult to take the pen out (I don't care for all the other stuff mentioned about the package. For me, it just needs to be easy to get the pen).

Gorgeous, Lam! I cannot wait for mine to get here. They are in stock now where I pre-ordered it--why is it taking so long to ship?!!

I hope you manage some M600s at least from your wife's hands...

Beautiful pen. I really want to get this one as well! The blue has always struck me as lovely. I remember seeing it before I was into fountain pens (and paying a handful for them)...

XD Haha, part of my order is a converter for my brother so he can raid my ink bottles & samples collection. It's not huge yet but I tend to buy samples first before any bottles, and he's getting curious about some of the more fun colors that I've shown him. I picked up some noodler's habanero in hopes it'd get him to write more. My largest pen and nib is my Jinhao 159, it makes my pilots look diminutive.

That pen is so gorgeous!

How does she like it?

I'm going stir crazy. My package got on a truck last night and no updates since. It's a 6 hour drive if that from the facility to here, but FedEx does some strange routes to get from point A to point B sometimes.

I put a spell on you..

Thank you, Oregano.

I hope you get yours soon. I had mine pre-ordered elsewhere and, given the delay, I wrote to ask what was going on. I was told that only 30% of their order was fulfilled and there was no date set for the rest to ship. So, I cancelled and put an order with Cult pens.

Oh, my wife says that it's no deal on the M600s for me  .

Oh, the wait! I hope FedEx does everything right and it arrives soon.

It is a gorgeous pen and my wife loves it - it is her first B nib. It is currently inked with Pelikan 4001 Turquoise and it writes beautifully.
