Year-end Arrivals

• Montblanc 1950s 342 OF Nib

• Montblanc Florence Burgundy Pen Case

• Montblanc 1950s 342 OBB Nib

~ The model name of the pen case is corrected, thanks to several persons who kindly sent private messages pointing out the error in the original misidentification.

Both 342s have turned out to be outstanding writers. They're easy to grasp, the nibs lay down crisp lines from the first touch on paper, and they're discreetly unobtrusive pens.

There's a special pleasure in writing with fountain pens which are almost my age. My next Montblanc may be a pen sold in my birth year — 1953.

Oh great ... sterling silver and wood have a lot of potential to make up to a great pen!

I haven't seen it in real life yet.

You're waiting until Dec. 24th to open it as well? ;-)

Cheers

 ...so which pen for Dec 24th ? :lticaptd:

I was suprised the Frankfurt boutique did have the Dean pens locked away and not on display. The website is also late...

After handling the red pen I totally forgot to ask to see the 1931

Cheers

Ive been a bad girl, Santa. Had absolutely no intentions of acquiring a 149 (and no budget for it either). But when a brand new factory labeled O3B with such a delightfully rakish edge comes available at half the price of one sitting in a store and is dangled so temptingly in front of me...what would you do?

Cue the Brittany Spears song :)

What vile, nefarious rogue would dangle such a bangle in front of you, knowing your weakness for the rakish in nibs?

Fie on such a rascal! Ho Ho Ho!

BTW: Gorgeous Platinum 149 OBBB! Nothing but the best, eh?

Many thanks for the handwriting sample.

I shall have to contemplate my revenge. Interim, in the words of an antiquated and no longer PC fable, “please don’t throw me in that briar patch!”

I could have done with a heads up. ;)

This could have propelled me into the O3B club, so far it's only OBB.

Great buy.

Only the rogue who really knows her weakness for rakish in nibs. A true rascal, indeed.

The Solitaire Blue Hour Doue referenced in Post 1094 arrived recently. I haven't had much time with it due to traveling, but the nib seems exceptional. Kudos to the craftsman who made it. I chose an exchange at purchase to an OM. It offers a pleasantly surprising amount of writing variance and I've yet to push it. The 145 size of this pen is quite heavy, the weightiest Montblanc pen I own. As expected, the polished cap is a fingerprint magnet. Here's a hastily written sample for this post.

Wow! Thanks f or the terrific OM nib writing sample.

I like the variation it produces for you.

May it be a cherished writer for you.
