I met all these beauties unexpectedly at Tainan pen show in Taiwan. Everything is predetermined perhaps.

My most recent MB purchase:

;)

I see you went with the Platinum trim instead of gold or rose gold. Will you be switching to oblique tires for greater lane variation?

That's a real looker. It found a good home! Congratulations

Excellent choice - I love the flat top coloured Danish productions. Heres one I just got myself, not a flat top but a 224:

You guys crack me up  Nice ride though.

... saw my brothers last week... they both drive MBs... but I think the sib-rivalry thing is happening (twins? why yes, why do you ask?)... one said he can hardly wait for the Bentley to be delivered, his 550 is getting old...

I’d find a restored Trabant to drive and park next to his compensator. *evil chortle*

You forgot to mention whether they were B, BB or 3B. ;)

OTOH, those are among my favorite alloys for the C-Klasse.

Having recently sold some unwanted items I'd told myself I must before purchasing another pen, I visited the boutique and made my selection. Aesthetics wasn't even a tertiary consideration, but with Montblanc one can't really go wrong in that department no matter the selection reasoning.

My criteria was the same; weight, girth, section material, aesthetic. I don't even look at limited editions other than to admire them and I had to stay within the price range of the cash I had from the sale.

Going in I knew a nib exchange would be in order.

I had my eye on a 90th Anniversary pen I'd seen previously, but had earlier decided against it due to cost #1, and the fact it was a 146 size.

Looking at both versions of the Le Petit Prince pens (original and Holiday Set gold) I decided they were too light weight.

Since I don't care for red, I turned down the Marilyn Monroe pen.

No full resin black or white Classique pens for me due to their light weight.

It's odd how immediate the feedback when handling a pen. And I knew the second I handled the Solitaire Doue Blue Hour Classique it was perfect. It met all criteria: weight, girth, section material (metal), and I hesitated only on the aesthetic but for a minute. The polished cap will require extra special handling and I know it still will scratch far easier than the resin. I prefer gold over platinum, but the fantastic blue hexagon resin barrel was spectacular and I love the thought behind this pen. Besides, platinum suits it far better than gold.

So, I purchased it and immediately said goodbye as it will be shipped out for a nib exchange. I'll post photos and writing samples when I receive the actual pen back with the mystery nib. :)

Here are two stock photos:

Congrats on a lovely, understated pen. The PT definitely accentuates the blue resin barrel.

I too prefer PT/RT/CT rather than GT. Sticking to your budget is a prudent approach.

Which nib did you decide?

I'm saving that little tidbit of information for the future writing sample when the pen arrives home. :)

I stopped by a MB Boutique today to see the Summit 2 Watch impressive and they have already sold all of their initial allotment. I ended up buying this pen case. I dont need another MB pen case! ,but I couldnt resist this blue one for my Little Prince and Blue Hour pens. The photo does not do the true color justice.
