Just a warning about leaving Lucky Orange in a pen for more than a week or so. As with many other orange inks it tends to form little, concentrated deposits. This time it was bad enought it pushed my steel music nib out of alignment temporarily. So enjoy the color but do not let it sit unattended, especially in pens that are not easily disassembled!

+1 I had the same in one of my pens, took a deep clean to de-gunk it. I love the colour but am sticking to my rollerball for lucky orange henceforth.

Hello friends,

I am slowing down in terms of fountain pens and for the meantime shifting my eyes elsewhere.

It just happened that I recently discovered an outlet boutique and was able to get these goodies at 60%-80% off :)

These two I found their color very interesting so I grabbed them.

I loved the guilloche pattern on the 90 Solitaire from Day 1. But it being available in Classic size made me hesitate. Figured it would make a perfect ballpoint however.

Oh and this.. almost didn't know what it was. In this day and age, I suspect it has zero utility to anyone (hence the discount?) but it reminded me of days past (my childhood) and I couldn't resist. Too cute!

Love the baby clock! Analog works just as well as digital and has far less distractions. I'm still running an ancient wind up clock for just that reason.

I observed something like that with Montblanc Bordeaux.

I use MB Bordeaux daily, but I've not experienced this phenomenon. Probably because I write with my pens every day.

MB Bordeaux is one of my favorite MB Ink colors. Yes, I'm boring.

Hard times don't last, but hard people do.

Thank a Veteran.

Aaaaaaaaa! I found and ordered MB Generation violet! :D :D :D

Can't wait!!!! When it arrive I'll post a picture!

edit: I just received an email and unfortunately there was a mistake in the description and this is JUST A BLUE GENERATION :( (from the picture it was difficult to judge, but the source was certain). I'm disappointed ... take blue or not take it at all?

Got some new inks.

Please count me as a super-fan of your ink photography.

GREAT images which bring out the beauty of the new inks.

As soon as I looked at your post, I smiled.

Time to consider what to order from Montblanc China.

Thank you for such a creative approach to presenting ink.

You've given me a batch of ideas.

With Appreciation,

Tom K.

Got a 149 today. This is my first 149 and first modern Montblanc pen. I think they forgot to make mine out of precious resin, because it feels exactly like plastic. The pen is in size and weight pretty much identical to Pelikan M800 (besides the nib size) - I have no idea why people compare the M800 to 146 and M1000 to 149. I find the M1000 unbalanced and clunky, whereas the 149 is amazing to write with. I prefer the nib/body ratio on 149 over the M800, which is something I never even thought of saying before. All in all, I find the 149 a superbly balanced pen and by no means whatsoever "oversized". The nib is perfectly aligned straight out of the box and writes well, although a little bit on the dry side. I prefer drier nibs with shading than overly wet nibs though, so I'm not complaining. The threads feel a bit plasticky and the cap wobbles a little bit on the body, but only under pressure, so it's not a huge deal for me.

I like it! :)

EDIT: Although I find Pelikans better engineered, I am grateful Montblanc has not introduced a "rust ring" below the nib.

Am I the only one who thinks those labels on the bottle ruin the aesthetics of the new, fancy elixir inks? Looks like a slapped on last minute design decision, and not a good one. None of the other cube inks i can recall needed a label (excpet the small one at the bottom).

As I was just scrolling through and glanced at the bottles I thought that they were home-blended inks with homemade labels. Yes -- I agree the labels take away from the aesthetics.

My fingers are always inky and I'm always looking for something new.  Interested in trading?  Contact me!
