So I got it in my Christmas sock, the Marilyn Monroe Special Edition.Review will come in a fortnight I think :D

Hope you are very happy with it! I look forward to the review and the comparison with your other leading ladies!

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

This morning I nearly pulled the trigger on a 1912, 149 red gold and Shakespeare ballpoint.

I received a "flash sale" email from the Pen Shop, and all of these appeared at 40% off, other than the 149 which was 50%. So all of those for circa £1,000. Too good to be true, right? Indeed it was. As soon as I added each to the basket, they were all marked as out of stock, then disappeared from the website shortly after :(

I am holding out for the 2018 PoA and WE, whatever they may be. Also tempted to buy a Shakespeare set if any boutiques have...

Not my latest acquisition, but this 149 Platinum arrived yesterday (sorry for the poor phone pics)

The OBBB nib is heavenly. It will be hard to take this one out of rotation.

Here is the nib with some of the other currently inked pens

and, just for fun, a comparison with my wife's Boheme

Edited to add: The main "culprits" :D for this OBBB acquisition are Tom Kellie, Ghost Plane with their posts and BillH with his posts and a written note with his 149 Rose Gold OBBB :puddle: . So, I guess I should "thank you" guys to helping me spend money  .

Hey Lam1 -

Was this a nib exchange? If so, how long did it take to get your 149 equipped with an OBBB?

It was. But, it was taken care of by the store where I bought it (La Couronne du Comte). I bought it during Thanksgiving and they shipped the pen to me on December 19, if I'm not mistaken (it took a little longer to arrive because USPS was overwhelmed during the Holidays). So, I think it was pretty quick.

Lam1, that is a fantastic pen! I'm so happy for you that it came in perfect condition :D Maybe 2018 will be a fresh page, eh?

Only problem is, my "wanter" has a new pen to obsess about...

I’m AWESOME at spending other people’s money. B)

Seriously, it’s great to spread the sheer joy of writing with these pens.

Yup, a very fast 10 years passed buy. The good news... closer to retirement.

Yeah....funny how quickly time passes....LOL.

Those are such beautiful pens. Your nib choices are excellent.

To add both of them recently is a major acquisition.

I hope that 2018 will be an especially enjoyable writing year for you.

Thank you for posting the image.

The USPS brought you a great beginning for the New Year.

Thank you for posting the very nice images and handwriting sample.

It's easy to see why it's an instant favorite.

Interestingly, both you and Zdanek in Prague have received Platinum 149 OBBBs this week and both of you inked with Montblanc Irish Green.

Having also done that, I understand and share in your joy at using such an outstanding fountain pen.

Yes, BillH's posts are especially enjoyable to read. Ghost Plane has been enthusiastically advocating broader nibs and serving fresh cookies for far longer than yours truly ever began using a Montblanc pen.

We're delighted to welcome you to the growing “OBBB Group”, hoping that you'll have as much fun writing with yours as we have with ours.

I should have mentioned that I enjoyed the comparison image with what appears to be an F (?) Dumas and an EF Pelikan.

That's quite a high octane group to have inked.

Nice!

The purchase is the zodiac ink. For Christmas I received a J.herbin glass dip. I decided to create a ink list in my pen notebook.

Earlier in the notebook is a page for each of my pens with a small blurb with each ink change.
