What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase? 2018

Picked up a Coral Rouge et Noir with a Medium nib. When these first came out I was really tempted but a store salesman convinced me that I would not like it ( too narrow). Well it turns out that yes it is narrow, but I do like it. It writes great with a bit of bounce ( no flex), besides my Agatha needs company.

I have one, the only thing I would change would be the metal section, I would do everything in ebonite.

Yesterday was finally able to get my hands on something very long anticipated:

Writing samples will follow as soon as I decide which ink goes where.

Thank you for posting the ink image above.

What is ‘Emerald’?

Is it a green ink? Is it a special edition, and, if so, is it connected to any other release, or is it stand alone?

After thinking about the word ‘emerald’, is the ink in any way linked to Rouge et Noir pens with snake clips having emerald green eyes?

Just a wild guess, but that's the only possibility I could think of where ‘emerald’ might be involved.

That's one of my all time favorite pens, in this version in specific! :) Congratulations on a fine acquisition, hope you enjoy it.

Thanks Pravda. I enjoy every bit of it. It is an eye catcher indeed.

The colour combination with blue lacquered cap ala Verne wave with Martele rose gold plated barrel brings out of the pen’s beauty. After appraising further the Tolstoy 1868, its piston knob which is made from grenadilla wood has its origin from Humboldt 4810 while the green malachite stone inserted in the knob, reminds me of Solitaire Nikolai.

In short, Tolstoy 1868 has the element of Verne, Martele, Humboldt & Nikolai pen.

I bought a damaged MB for a project I have been thinking of for a while. Hopefully I did not get myself into a mess. When the project comes to fruition I will post about it here because the folks in my life not on FPN could care less about pens or talking about them! :D

I recently got a #24 mb . I like the looks of it, but it has a broken white piston rod. Does anyone know of a source for this item? Maybe an old broken 24 in your junk bin? Thanks

Zaddick, sounds exciting- you have excellent results when you embark on these projects...! :)

I am going to guess that the new pen features a flat top...

You are an astute observer. OR I am sadly that predictable. Let's go with the one that makes us both look clever! ;)

Yes I hesitate between the Borghese 888, Ludwig II 888 and Namiki Manekineko. All around the same price but have to decide which one and also to save enough money ;)

I vote Borghese
