That's an awesome looking addition to your collection sir.

Do you intend on inking it up and using it...or is this purely an investment piece?

Thank you!

It is inked and I will take it to work tomorrow. Have not decided about the nib yet; they come in M but maybe I'll change that...

I have more "delicate" pieces in my collection (i.e. these can scratch/break easily) so I don't fill and carry them around. But the Kepler is made to be used.

Such a magnificent deserves to be used.

Finally picked up the 3-pc set from my favorite author. Heres the FP stealing the spotlight.

Wow...F Scott Fitzgerald!! Did you buy this new...or pre-loved?

I love the deco Black/White/Silver look!!

Great pen I like very much. I have two; one with a nice OB nib.

Keep it out of the sunlight as much as possible to avoid discoloration.

Cheers

It was listed as new. All 3 match the numbers on the box but it's hard to tell if the pencil or BP were ever used. I did confirm through flushing that the FP was never inked! I love it.

The pearl part? It's funny you say that because some parts almost have a yellow patina, which I like but I'm not sure if that's intentional or discoloration.

Yes, unfortunately.

The pearl part. Can turn to almost teddish-brown when exposed to UV for a longer time. Originally the pearl part was/is almost bright white.

Cheers

Michael

PS: Im using mine without worry. I just dont let it lie in direct sunlight for storage.

Picked up an M fountain pen this weekend to go with my RB. I like the Ultra Black a lot and it is a very smooth writer. Thanks to Larry Dromgoole. Great, friendly service.

Thanks for the tip. Can I ask what your pen has as the limit on the cap? Mine says 004xx/18500 but on Montblanc's site they say they only made 4,500 sets and then 14,000 FP's. So I would have assumed my set would be within the 4500 limit or at the very least the FP cap would have a limit of 14,000 only.

In short, I'm confused!

A few days ago I had the pleasure of receiving this blue fella arriving at my doorstep

~ Pravda:

Were such a lovely Skeleton fountain pen to rap on my door, it'd be invited in for mint tea, sweets and asked to enjoy a long stay on my desk.

Both images are exceptionally fine fountain pen photography.

In the comparison shot of the two Skeletons side-by-side, the aged leather with gold-tooled fleuron decoration is sublime.

Thank you for sharing such a high quality pair of images.

May the Blue Hour Skeleton be a treasured writer for you, no matter which nib you select or which ink is used.

Thank you Pravda for sharing your nice purchase and the comparison picture with your other pen. Do you have a preference between the 2 in term of design?

Congratulations Pravda and truly fantastic photographs that add to the desirability of the pen. Looks like the early buds of a SE Skeleton collection. You and Ghost Plane are off to a solid start! ;)

~Tom Kellie: I am happy you like it..!! I tried pushing my photography ability to its limits to come up with something that remotely compares to your masterpieces.

~Cyrille: I actually assuredly went for the 90 Years first because of the gorgeous ruthenium plating that changes color as it reflects the light and contrasts the red gold nib. I remember disliking the Blue Hour. When the UNICEF was released, I wasn't too fond of the deep dark blue glass and that's when my attention to the BH was ignited. It has a 'vintage' look/feel to it and the baby blue glass I found to be soothing and easy matches any ink.

~Axis: Thank you! Who knows if the pen may still have been detained in German territory if it weren't for your kind gesture to help following it up.

~Zaddick: The pen is very photogenic indeed :) It is also very lovely in person. However, these are not my start of my skeleton collection as I already have the 75th Anniversary Skeleton, Magical Black Widow, Genghis Khan and Musée du Louvre.
