The Right Blurple Ink

A nice blurple can be had by mixing Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa and Salix (the so-called "Scabix" blend); as with the Watermans, the best part is that you can work out your own mix. I've got an eyedropper pen full of what I think is my final version of the recipe (which has allowed me to tweak the recipe while it's in the pen) and I'll try to post a review, but it's essentially infinitely variable and iron gall, to boot.

I sometimes use Waterman Publ (shorter than Blurple and sounds less like a vomit) as a tester, perhaps because an ink in a vial seems less serious than one in a bottle. Waterman seems entirely safe in any pen. For my next use use as a writing mix, I intend to lean it a bit more to the blue end.

Quick question, when you mix two inks such as the Watermans, do they separate and need shaking to remix or do they stay blurple?

No they won't separate or need shaking to remix. They will remain the colour they were when mixed. It's just like mixing any ink colour originally to get any specific shade.

It's very hard to find an exact shade of blue with PC, tablet or phone displays, hope this helps:

While I don't consider Tsuyu Kusa a blurlple, you might:
