~ The families of my Hong Kong students gave me a surprise a 66th birthday party.

One guest was my former student at Peking University, ZHU Jinjie, who has travelled with me to East Africa for Leopard behavior field observation.

His presence alone would've been gift enough, yet he presented me with a pair of gifts, including the bookmark shown below.

Happy Birthday Tom! I am so glad that you had so many to share it with! May your next year be encouraging, inspiring and filled with peace and joy!

Your bookmark came from one of my very favorite pen shops - Tylee's in Taipei. Great place! Great people!

At Braceria Pugliese in Shenzhen

~ One never knows when or where fountain pen and ink will arise in ordinary daily conversation.

Not a Montblanc Boutique, or in a pen show, or in a stationery store, but rather talking about writing tools as an essential element in a balanced life.

This evening at Braceria Pugliese in Shenzhen's Shuwei Village, I had a delightful conversation with an English Literature specialist from the Shenzhen College of International Education.

Among many other topics we talked about fine fountain pens, inks and handwriting. I showed her my recent birthday gift from former students, a Pelikan M200 Café Crème EF nib.

It's truly a joy to spend time with those who appreciate fountain pens.

~ Cyrille:

You've lavishly shown us what's new in Montblanc boutiques.

Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your kind photography work.

These fountain pen models are all of interest to me.

The detailed images show many design features of these models.

Thank you so much for these superb images. As ever, your pen photography sets a high standard.

That looks more like a 6B. I don't think 3B would be double split. Anyhow, you would need a bespoke nib which runs around $1500 USD give or take for a nib made to your specifications (within reason). Thst is the cost of the nib and feed added to your pen. Pen is a separate purchase.

Dear zaddick: somebody offered this pen to me for sale for $750 or thereabouts (converted). is that a good price - would you buy it at that price??

Enjoy your pens

Have a nice day

~ Correction to the above photo caption:

In the Disney thread lemonde kindly pointed out that this is a rollerball, not a ballpoint.

I apologize for the misidentification.

Perhaps people would be more aggrieved if this were the Ballpoint Network and lighting torches over at the Rollerball Network. You are still among friends here. ;)
