Does it appear with slight heat or the things written with it remain hidden forever? (Tongue in cheek).

~ ardene:

It's 100% guaranteed to keep all secrets written down secret forever.

The ultimate Montblanc ink.

It never needs flushing.

Never fades.

Doesn't stain ink windows.

May be diluted with tap water without ill effect.

However...

Waterproof?

Well, no ink's perfect...

Maybe it is working well (electric shortcuts and all) with MB's Augmented Paper.

Looks interesting. however can't say the same for the price . A difference of $2000 between just the pen and the set.

I have to agree. I love the pen. When I saw it at Heathrow airport -20% tax, I was tempted. This presentation set with all the nice additions really helps. But $2000 for a roll out backgammon set and a pretty box is not enough to swing it.

I like what Montblanc are doing. They have style and taste, and choose good partners. But it is too rich for my blood.

Tom: I am a bit behind keeping up with FPN posts, but I see you continue to find and explore new MB inks. I presume you are still shopping at the MB Boutique that you have shared photos of in previous posts?

I have been reluctant to buy the ‘scented inks.’ I guess it seems unnecessary and maybe unappealing to me. That being said, I had the chance to buy the Purdey when I was in Copenhagen about a month ago. It had arrived at Stelling’s the day I walked in the door, in fact, they were unboxing it. It is a very beautiful pen but out of my comfort zone on price.

Masters for Meisterstück L'Aubrac - Iroshizuku yu-yake

~ Cyrille:

That pair of images is superb!

I've shared them with a student friend here who shares your appreciation of Iroshizuku Yu-yake.

It happens that he's learning French, therefore he especially appreciated that the images were made in Belgium.

The L'Aubrac nib and the ink are shown to full advantage by your high quality photography.

Many, many thanks for these images posting here.

That the inks were scented put me off for months on the Montblanc Elixir Parfumeur Collection.

Likewise, I mistakenly supposed that the Montblanc James Purdey and Sons Single Malt ink might be a scented gimmick.

Color me empty-headed and short-sighted!

They're actually outstanding inks in their own right, quite apart from any fragrance.

In reality, the scent is faint at best, not in the least objectionable or obtrusive.

The James Purdey & Sons Single Malt is a stellar performer, as Cyrille has noted above. He now owns three bottles of it!

Yes, you're right. Aside from vintage models, all of my Montblanc fountain pens or inks are purchased at Montblanc boutiques.

It's possible that might shift with regard to Montblanc fountain pens because I'm highly impressed with the outstanding service and professionalism of Fritz Schimpf in Tübingen, Germany.

A long-time friend here saw your two images of the L’Aubrac inked with Iroshizuku Yu-Yake.

He was highly impressed by the clarity and luminosity of the second image, showing nib detail.

Your outstanding work attracts admirers around the globe.
