A poem from the French writer Victor Hugo, L'expiation about the last battles of Napoleon 1er and his debacle during the Russia campaign and the battle of Waterloo

Montblanc James Dean special edition plume F - Elixir parfumeur Marine blue
Montblanc Cervantes limited edition plume F - Elixir parfumeur wood & tobacco grey
Montblanc notebook #146 Miles Davis

~ Cyrille:

The image above, blending the Victor Hugo poem, the James Dean F, and the Cervantes F, continues to inspire me.

The luminosity is ideal, without glare or shadowing. The colors are especially vivid.

Your handwritten lines from Victor Hugo are an inspiration.

Thank you, again, for having posted this excellent fountain pen & handwriting sample photograph.

Dr Z

Have you ever gone through your MB pen collection with photos and writing samples like the others have done ?

I really want to know more about the pens you have decided to collect, how they write, and what they look like, if your time at all allows.

Thank you

I collect along several themes. I like Danitrio, old Bexley, Sailor, and custom pens. I also like interesting and exotic nibs. In the world of MB, I have mostly narrowed it down to 149 pens and pens that use the #9 size nib. I think at this point I have all the nib widths and most all of the standard nib types. Nowadays I focus on 149s with unusual nibs, 1960s models, and customized 149s. I don't have photos of all my pens or writing samples. My favorite standard nib size is O3B.

I've heard of "old man strength" though I have yet to experience it. Reading all these posts on the new flex nibs, I took out an early 1960 149, inked it up with some Oyster Grey and gave it a test run. The ink is a bit too wet for the copy paper.

That's useful to see. Thank you for preparing and posting the image.

That vintage flex is the real deal.

I'm glad to see Montblanc Oyster Grey in use.

It's an ink I've never come across in boutiques.
