Hello Tom & Zaddick,

You all have incredible nibs! Thank you for the photos of the Bespoke Music nib and the earlier 3B standard-production nibs. As you know, I'm not much a fan of super wide nibs, but those are such beauties I would happily write with any of them.

Thanks again for the stunning photos.

Enjoy the weekend, which has already begun in your hemisphere, Tom.

Best wishes,

Barry

Grazi, Maestro! They are lovely, Tom. The 90th Anniversary EEF Bespoke nib & its message in red ink is stunning. Thank you again for brightening my morning. Best wishes always, Barry

~ Uncial:

It's a Montblanc Johann Strauss Donation Pen M nib in yellow gold.

The bat is indeed a nod to Strauss's Die Fledermaus.

My career has been in field observation in the life sciences, where bats are especially revered.

The ink is Montblanc Year of the Dog Red Chine.

I wanted to share this photo... its on itself, nothing special, nothing spectacular... but i have attached some feelings and emotions to it.

The picture.

fpn_1559662730__img_20190526_084620_169.

The meaning and my symbolism, added.

The picture was taken at the graveyard at Mauthausen, the concentraiton camp near Vienna, Austria. I was fortunate enough to go there to visit while on a trip recently. After seeing the camp and the horrors i could only but be moved by seeing the daisies at the side of the entrance to the graveyard... So happy flowers in a place where such horrors happened. In this camp there were no real boundaries on who was made to work, nor on whom to kill... as near the end of the war they had woman here as well... They had Jews, they had Christians, and everything in between... MANY were killed in many different ways.

I was struck by the... humanity. The hope and wish to live. The reaction by the prisoners at the end of the war.... i was struck by what the people left behind as mementos in the walls, floors...

The picture is nothing more than my remembrance that history is around us. Despite going through bad, or for those who once resided here, horrible times, it can get better... there can be daisies in the future.

And the pen? Lets write it down, lets not forget, lets not repeat.

One of my main points (as illustrated by my screen name) of writing is to learn and remember history.

Tom,

I love seeing your writing samples versus looking at swatches.

First MB Swan Illusion...now Callifolio Noir. I love these vintage looking inks.

Regards,

David

While the bloom is there I thought I might add this snap of a recent acquisition that has a remarkable difficult nib to photograph

It continues to be a reliable OBBB writer.

The piston knob remains exquisitely smooth.

A quiet treasure on the writing desk.

Due to significantly increased recent local interference with the “foreign” Internet, it wasn't possible to download your image.

Fortunately, this evening it finally was displayed on the iMac screen on my writing desk.

Thank you so much for posting such a striking and richly meaningful image.

The placement of the upright black fountain pen contrasts with the white scattered white blooms.

Your thoughtful reflection on the horrific history of indiscriminate mass murder gets to the point.

Their loves, with hopes, sorrows, dreams, triumphs, frustrations and resolutions — all snuffed out.

Writing to remember...deeply recall with patience and insight...is a powerful use of fountain pens.

I'm grateful for your post in this thread, which forcefully touches on the wellsprings of writing as healing.

With Appreciation,

Tom K.

Your trenchant comments, patient explanations, and thrilling pen images are a highlight of the FPN Montblanc Forum.

The writing from the 18C BB using Homer Blue is eye-candy to me.

Crisp, precise, exactly as I hope the finest nibs will write.

Thank you so much for the gorgeous handwriting sample!

The last pen just arrived this afternoon, the WE Miguel de Cervantes and some quotes in French of the writer:

It is F nib inked with MB elixir parfumeur wood & tobacco grey.

~ Cyrille:

Thank you so much for posting the images of your superb Miguel de Cervantes F.

The Montblanc Elixir Parfumeur Wood & Tobacco Grey is an attractive shade, as shown in your handwriting sample.

I look forward to your photo posts as they enhance the beauty of your fountain pens, showing details which I'd overlooked.

That's such a worthy edition to your collection of writing treasures.

May it be a reliable writer in your hand.

Tom K.
