Congratulations and enjoy the pen. What ink are you going to use?

I was torn, but opted for my current favorite: Swan Illusion

Looks similar to Diamine Graphite, IIRC and a nice shade nonetheless.

That is an elegant ink, indeed!

In other news, Montblanc is issuing their newest donation pen honoring George Gershwin. I am tempted--the pen looks most attractive, and I love Gershwin's music.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

~ 1nkulus:

Yes, the L’Artisan Pastellier Callifolio Noir ink is in the same range as Diamine Graphite.

Writing with both inks is enjoyable as I'm partial to shades of charcoal.

Diamine Graphite was so satisfactory that the Noir ink seemed worth ordering.

Happily it's also a high quality ink, without any issues in writing.

~ Dear Francis:

Thank you so much!

Yes, you're right.

It's a Hamburg-crafted Bespoke Monotone Yellow Gold 149 Small Signature Nib.

The left side of the nib is engraved with ‘Lion’ and the right side engraving reads ‘Panthera leo’.

A remarkably smooth writer, the ink flow is steady during multi-hour writing sessions.

The line it provides is not overly wide. It's expressive, but not dramatically so.

Montblanc Bespoke nib craftsmanship by Axel Nier's team continues the tradition of excellence in writing instruments.

Definitely, a cherry on top. What is the nib width?

4B

Thank you, it was a toss between the 4B and 5B owing to the double slit. The 3B is still a single slit IIRC.

Correct.

Here is my 3B nib (as identified by a factory sticker) from the early to mid 1970s when they were phased out.

tom had a more rare 14C 3B from the early 1960s and has posted pictures of it on FPN before.
