A friend gave me one of those little Moonmans…..a killer little pen. Makes we wonder why I spend so much on pens.

I hear you. I've bought Pilots, mostly cos PO nibs, but also I really like Pilot's nibs in general.

But this Moonman and the Moonman M2 and a couple of other lower-priced pens have turned my head.

This Wahl-Eversharp Skyline has been sitting in my collection for around 25 years. I never bothered to clean it up or ink it. So last night and this morning, I went to work on it. Now it will make a nice daily writer.

Here’s a second pen I got working this weekend. This is a “Henley” and says it was made in London. The styling isn’t bad but the materials are cheap and the pen is very light in weight. On the other hand, the “warranted” nib is a dream to write with.

A considerable rarity, the Henley. I like the long lever and the mid-cap clip which suggests the mid-20s.

Today it's been the Poseidon Pearl Noodler's Konrad, flex nib, with one iteration of American Aristocracy (this seems to be a purplish brown); and the Dove Grey 51 Vac, F nib, which I got last weekend at the Ohio Pen Show, with Waterman Intense Black.

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
