Inked an early 2000s Sheaffer Balance II (basic black with "Lifetime" marked 14K M nib). Platinum Forest Black.

Intriguingly this nib appears to have near 2X flex without too much pressure applied.

My delivery of pens from China have all arrived (almost all) today.

I'm currently using:

- Jinhao 51A in amber/black acrylic resin with J. Herbin Lie de Thé: Surprisingly well behaved and cheap and reliable writer. Lines are solid, no skipping. I expected worse.

- Jinhao 51A in light blue/blue with Lamy Turqoise

- Jinhao 51A in red/purple with J. Herbin Rose Cyclamen

- Moonman M600S violet with J. Herbin Larmes de Cassis: I haven't opened this bottle in about 4 years. I thought the pen was broken and then realised the ink is grayish.

- Wing Sung 3008A Silver-Silver: not filled yet, probably Lamy Blue - These pens are TWSBI Diamond 580 clones

- Wing Sung 3008A Silver-gray: I was supposed to get a set of 4 different colored pens but I got 4 consisting of 2 silvers, a blue and a pink: Not filled yet

- Wing Sung 3008A Silver-Blue: Not filled yet

- Wing Sung 3008A Silver-Pink/red: Not filled yet

- Wing Sung 3013 amber/brownish: not filled yet - TWSBI VAC 700 clone

- Faber Castell coconutwood: Lamy Blue

Arriving soon:

- Hero 616 jumbo x3 (Parker 51 clones)

- Hero 616 regular x10 (I was told to just buy a 10 pack and figure out which ones are duds and just use the 1 in 10 good one. It's like 80 cents per Parker 51 clone so expectations are low)

- Some Rotring Isographs x3 which I'll fill with fp ink

- Pelikan M205 Star Ruby, probably with a gold nib upgrade most likely running Faber Castell red or yama-budo if I can find where I misplaced my bottle.

edit: I looked at them in better light and it turns out I did get two different silvers

Got my rOtring Isographs. Not sure if they're technically fountain pens but I'm running Lamy Standard Black in my .70 and ink flow is great, no issues, very smooth. Drew 2.5 A5 pages of drawing exercises (elipses mostly) and only had an issue when I got too curious and tried to take the thing apart. My blackened hands are proof I found out where the feed starts. Other than that, extremely cool.

I mixed a few drops of black ink into the J. Herbin Larmes de Cassis to make it darker. It now matches my Moonman M600S Violet fountain pen.

So far today it's been the Lamy LX (Ruthenium, M nib), with very diluted KWZI Walks Over Vistula, and the Noodler's ebonite Konrad (Methusaleh's Pine Cone Ripple, flex nib) with Sailor Souboku.

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

My favorite one was 149 but recently I tried Lamy and I simply felt in love with them. Now I use Studio and Imporium daily. I have to admit that Studio is more practical due to the click cap and not screw cap. Also I was using 149 with M nib and Lamy are F.
