Here's my collection of Vintage Waterman pens.......

(With a couple of Pelikans and Mabie Todds thrown in)

The Waterman 12 with the gold filigree bands at the top most right is a beautiful wet noodle.

I have two cheap new-ish Watermans: a black Allure that wrote great, and a teal… Phileas… that needed the mob worked a little. But by far my nicest Waterman is this 90s Expert that I got at a local antique shop. I love the look and the nib feel, and it lays down a nice wet line. It also has a really nice feeling snap cap, that also snaps to post. It’s one of my very favorite pens, and I got it for $23! I think I’ll probably get a Hemisphere next.

mysterious blue

Is much better looking than I expected.

Back when I was a Noobie, I had the old Florida Blue/Caribbean Sea...turquoise... Don't remember which. It was the 4th ink I'd bought, and later the blue-black.

After they changed the names, I forgot the old names, and never learned the new ones, in there were ever, so many turquoise inks out there that still had their names.

I agree! The antique store where I got it usually seems to price pens pretty reasonably and accurately. I don’t know why this one was so cheap! It writes and feels great, and has no major blemishes.

My Blue marbled Waterman was purchased at  Ala Moana Shopping Center decades ago. I don't remember what it cost, only that I loved the color!  Today it's inked in Herbin Larmes de Cassis.

I just bought an early 12 eyedropper (I think, have to double check) with a beautiful flexible stub nib. Besides my latest, I have: 2 42 1/2 V with flexible fine nibs- one red ripple, one BCHR, a 52 with a flexible nib  that I am actually getting ground a bit narrower tomorrow, a 1920s single desk set with a ridiculously flexible #2 nib, a couple of Stalwart/ Commando/ Dauntless types, and a Carène that is also getting a new grind, but I haven’t decided what I want yet.  After the show this weekend, they can take a family picture.

Hello everyone,
Here is a photo of my Waterman collection from which I am separating.
All these pens are new from stock and never used.
Beautiful day to all.

The middle black pen, is a Waterman Mann 200 with an F=EF nib.DaYPoQV.jpg

There use to be flame wars with the narrow Waterman nib fans vs change a nib Pelikan boys. My Mann F is equal to my Pel 200's EF nibs.

That flame war died when the even narrower Japanese pens moved from nitch to mainstream a decade and a half ago.

I have two well used 52's, both Wet Noodles. One is two stage 7X eef-bbb nib, the other starts at F and goes 6 X. Nice nimble pens. I was after to me then rare Wet Noodle nib, still am. I didn't then nor now have the money for near mint. (Not all 52's are Wet Noodles.)

1918-mid '30's Gothic 0554, Wet Noodle. Below.

I really wanted the inkwell...in I nor anyone else knew that the overlay was gold, not plated or rolled/filled. Nib wasn't marked for gold, either.

The nib and the 800 silver dip pen handle cleaned up well. Out now loaded with Herbin Vert Empire.

I made A MAJOR MISTAKE, LOADING JAPANESE INK, KON-PIKI, in it which turned my rubber sac into MUSH.

I'm lucky my 52's are not mush either, in I'd not used them since I got Kon Piki, a few years ago.

And I'm real glad I didn't pick my two new bluish Japanese inks either, in hopes that they would work better than what I experienced with them.

I had not read any of the ink reviews of those five Japanese inks..... Do Not Use in Rubber Sac pens. Or your sacks turn into MUSH.

I knew I wasn't supposed to use supersaturated inks like Noodlers, some DA or any other supersaturated inks (which thankfully I don't chase) in a rubber sac. In Kon-piki shades, I'd not thought it supersaturated or even saturated, but it is acidic/ ((just told they are alkaline ))I just read..OF WHICH I had no idea at all, that such eats rubber sacks.

Don't matter what matters they eat rubber sacs.

It’s the opposite, Japanese inks tend towards being alkaline.

@rayahalay -- The silver colored ones in the middle of your photo are gorgeous!  But I don't understand why you haven't used any of them (because half the fun of having a fountain pen is writing or drawing with one).  For me, the only ones I DON'T use are a bunch of vintage ones that I haven't gotten around to (or have the money to) get repaired/up and running....

What ever. What is important, it eats rubber sacs.

That may be the ultimate result, but someone reading this who doesn’t know any better might be put off acidic inks for their sacced pens, which is what most safe inks are.

Hello, thank you for your interest these pens are the legacy of one of my aunts who passed away years ago who worked at Waterman.
I don’t write but I have always found them magnificent and wanted to keep them, I couldn’t part with them until a few times ago when financial problems occurred...
These are the last ones I have left... Maybe I will keep one...
