Today it's been the vintage Pelikan 400, OB nib with Edelstein Olivine; and the Cross Solo, B nib, with diluted Monteverde Horizon Blue. I also have out (but haven't used yet) the Noodler's Boston Safety, flex nib, with Noodler's Luck of the Draw.

Today at work I was using this Delta Confitarma

the pen seems to be a special edition dedicated to the members of Confitarma, a confederation of Italian shipowners.

the pen is similar to the Delta black&white, although in blue resin and with the name Confitarma embossed on the silver cap ring

the nib is steel but writes really well

(sorry for the bad picture, must take a better one soon)

Pencil day, as all the pens in rotation are being cleaned. :P

Good grief! :o This can only mean that you don't have enough pens. Go out and buy more instantly :D

Ages since I posted here, I think, so these are in use today, alphabetically.

Lamy 2000, M, GvFC Violet (they call it violet blue. I do not see much blue).

Lamy Imporium, M, Pelikan Edelstein Ruby

Omas 555/F, M, J Herbin Lie de Thé

Waterman Man 100 Patrician (in blue, or Sapphire if you prefer), M, GvFC Burnt Orange.

Seems a medium sort of day.

Instead of buying more, I thought it prudent to use a Pilot V-pen in the interim and now the pens are back in service.

Crisis averted. ;)

Today has been mostly one of dilution:

Noodler's Konrad, flex nib -- diluted Akkerman Dutch Masters Ceruleum Blauw van Vermeer

Cross Solo, B nib -- diluted Monteverde Horizon Blue

Parker 61, F (?) nib -- unknown reconstituted ink (probably Quink Black)

and then, just to be a little different:

Pilot Decimo F nib -- Iroshizuku Take-sumi.

Today, a Pelikan 200 and Pelikan 150, both black, with F and EF nibs. Waterman brown and Pelikan smoky quartz.

Really enjoying this pair of baby birds; lovely bouncy (steel) nibs. Not quite enough to be flex, but enough to feel as much fun as taking a fast bend on a good bike.

Too many pens, too little time!

Montblanc Agatha Christie F (NOS), inked for the first time with Monteverde Horizon Blue. This could be a desert island pen for me.

Montegrappa Extra 1930 "Colori del Mare - The Sun" F, inked with Waterman Serenity Blue

Aurora Optima 75th Anniversary M, inked with Montblanc Corn Poppy Red

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

That is a lovely looking instrument. Is it on the bigger and thicker side? Would love to try Italian pens but I have a hard time trusting the makers and dealers for the price.

...Would love to try Italian pens but I have a hard time trusting the makers and dealers for the price.

Have to say that one of my oldest pens is also one of my most reliable: a vintage (well not THAT vintage, 1970s) Aurora Idea which remains among the smoothest writers I have ever owned.

Aurora is the only Italian maker whose pens I've ever owned, but along with the Ipsilon I received later they have been dependable and never disappointed, unlike other brands. Now, I'm not one who has thrown down hundreds of dollars on a Visconti or Montegrappa (or a pricier Aurora for that matter) but you're painting the Italians with a pretty broad brush (is it a fresco?) & am curious where your image of them overall came from.

Just add an F at the beginning, and any Art stinks.

Except your own.
