What Pens Are You Using Today 2018

Today I am using the first 'nice' Pelikan I bought, a black/burgundy M150 F with Lamy Coral and the JIF with Kana-cho.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Of five pens inked the ones I am using today are a Santini, Shanghai pattern with F nib, with Diamine Ruby, and a recently serviced Aurora 88K with F or EF nib dispensing a fine line of Waterman blue.

Just about to go away on hols with Mrs Ayse for a few days, so sorting out pens to take with me. I'm taking:

Pelikan M800 with a newly fitted broad nib

TWSBI Vac-700R (also broad)

Sailor Realo (broad)

Namisu Horizon Ebonite (broad)

Because they're in the same case I also have my two Shawn Newton bulb-fillers (one broad and one OB), a recently restored (rebuilt, in fact) Parker 61 capillary (broad), two Conway Stewart 60s and a Delta Dolce Vita Federico (broad). I'll leave the rest at home....... ;)

Got my Signature Pen Company Abalone Pen today through massdrop. What a cool pen! This is the one with rhodium plated trim. Its the George model it would seem. The pen was made with Abalone panels but the panels have been cut from a uniform sheet it looks like. Each panel lines up to the previous panel so the pattern in the Abalone is continuous around the pen. I imagine that was not a quick process. What a cool detail! The clip is also aligned to the nib/feed when posted. One more nice detail, when the cap is screwed on, the panels are lined up from the body to the cap. Really a nice hand made pen at a very fair price especially considering the time it took to align everything. Misalignment really bugs me (obsessive compulsive pen alignment disorder). The nib is a 2 tone Schmidt medium in steel. Also pictured my Xezo Maestro Abalone in yellow gold trim also with a Schmidt nib but in fine. The only two sea shell pens in my collection so far unfortunately. Going to need more! Both are great writers and look fantastic in person!

Someday the mountain might get em but the law never will.........

Well today I decided to give my Noodlers Ahab Flex a try out......I'm still new to Fountain pens...of the 3 I own Noodlers, Montblanc 144 AND Jinhao 159....I intend to rotate through them probably weekly to get a feel for reach.....So far 144 writes really well but for me a small pen.....Noodlers is a nice size pen and a fine line that I like....and the 159 well that's one large pen !! not sure if I want to carry that one around all the time

Parker 61 (black), M -- Birmingham Smithfield Street Bridge Truss Blue (until it ran dry, so I expect I will need to refill or refill with distilled water).

Parker 61 (red), M -- unknown reconstituted (and now diluted) black ink.

Parker 51 Aerometic Demi (Plum), M -- De Atramentis Aubergine.

This morning I used my Pelikan 140 (F) and M200 Brown Marbled (M) filled with Pelikan 4001 Blue Black and vintage Sheaffer Skrip Emerald Green respectively.

This afternoon:

Parker 45 green (14k EF)with Blackstone Sydney Harbour Blue

Parker 51 Demi Vacumatic with Diamine Blue Black which arrived today. Seller represented as 14k F, it seems finer than the 45 EF.

Wing Sung 3008 inexpensive piston filler with EF nib. I just put Waterman South Seas blue in it, which looks great in this demonstrator (especially the clear plastic feed).
