L to R:

Lamy 2000, Edison Collier, Omas Arte Italiano Arco, Delta Dolce Vita Federico, Parker Duofold Mk III International, Esterbrook J

Great photo of some beautiful pens. The Esterbrook holds its own against the OMAS and the Delta.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I use my Mont Blanc 342 - fitted with a 140 585 gold nib - every day. It is a lovely pen to write with - very smooth and not too heavy for these aged hands....

My Pelikan 400NN, with a 1950s KEF nib I received from Rick Propas in trade at the Ohio Pen Show. It is filled with Herbin Bleu Des Profundeus.also from the Pen Show. Also,

A new Platinum Chartres 3776, with Broad nib, filled with Blackstone Barrister Blue. This combination is also from the Ohio Pen Show.

My others inked today are the same Pelikan 605 M CI from Pendleton Brown, filled with Kon-Peki, Omas Paragon in black resin, with Mottishaw CI, filled with Pelikan Avanturine, and Pelikan 100, with semi-flex EF, filled with Diamine Blood Orange.

Today the pen that's on my desk (and in my Field Notes notebook) is a Pilot Metropolitan (F) with Noodler's Burgundy ink. But I had to sign a document earlier for which purple ink wasn't acceptable, so I grabbed a Levenger True Writer (F) with Noodler's American Eel.

Pelikan M120 Iconic Blue, M nib, with MB Beatles Psychedelic Purple LE.

Noodler's Charlie, flex nib, with Noodler's Kung Te Cheng.

Parker 61, F (I think) nib), with whatever ink (now reconstituted with distilled water) that was in the capillary filler when I bought the pen on Sunday at this year's Ohio Pen Show. Guessing it might be Quink Black.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
