Pink Parker Vector, F nib, with Diamine Flower Marigold (yeah, I know, it's a weird color combination -- pink with light orange, but I put ink into the wrong pen...).

I hadn't tried all of the Flower Collection inks before now (some I like, some I don't). Marigold is well behaved, but is not exactly easy on the eyes. And, well, orange... (I HAD been hoping for it to be yellow -- it's been a couple of years since I got the set for Christmas, and forgot to recheck old reviews).

Not long ago I bought a few Soenneckens. Today I brought the first of them into action, a 116. It is said to have a medium nib although, as seems to happen with vintage pens, it is more medium-fine. The nib is soft, somewhat flexible, very smooth, a true delight to use. However, being smaller than the 507 it is barely long enough unposted, absurdly long posted, with the cap sitting very high. A keeper pen, one of a few wonderful older pens in action at the moment. Ink in use is Graf von Faber Castell Moss Green, one of my favourite greens.

After years of reading about Indian-made ebonite pens, I recently took the plunge and acquired this beautiful Lotus Vamza. So far, I have been extremely pleased with its appearance and performance.

These two pens. Most will recognize the make and model of the one on the right, no doubt, but how many can identify the one on the left? Not an extraordinarily hard question, just a little obscure. And of course there are many "everybody knows that" things about fountain pens which I don't know. ;)

The gray pen has a gray ink, De Atramentis Gaius Julius Caesar. The other has De Atramentis Document Blue.

Trying a Montblanc 14 with fine to extra fine nib, filled with GvFC Hazelnut Brown.

On first testing, the pen had a small stress crack in the middle underside of the section, not extending to either end. It seems I have filled that successfully. There is still a little surface residue to polish away.

The pen works perfectly, and the slip cap design is handy in that it has pretty much two phases of operation, the first position sealing off the nib for practical purposes which still removing easily, and the second gripping the pen very firmly to put safely in a pocket. This makes the pen excellent for intermittent use.
