Mine came with a fine nib (she knows what I like), it was smooth and has a very even flow. So, no need for tweaking.

My beautiful new Pelikan Cafe Creme filled with J Herbin Cafe des Iles. I found a review of said pen at gourmetpens.com. Azizah used the same ink in her review.

I have a few pens currently in and I am rotating the use of them. First is my All Chrome pilot vanishing point it has a new fine nib unit in it it is filled with iroshizuku Yama Buda ink. Second I have a older Lamy Safari in blue with a black clip and nib and extra fine and it is filled with black ink from namiki. Then I have a pilot Metropolitan with a medium italic nib that is filled with noodler's turquoise. I have two Jin Hao 992s filled with some sample inks one is 54th Massachusetts from noodler's and the other is Concord bream also from noodler. Last but not least I have a twsbi Dimond 580 that is filled with watermans tender purple. Probably have too many pens inked right now.
