That is a gorgeous pen (and ink). I'm a noob to Pilot Customs. Is it just me or does this look nothing like the Pilot Custom 74s I see on Goulet? A different flavor, same stuff? Yours looks great. The ones there, not nearly as nice.

Carl

Thanks. I believe only the transluscent 74s are available outside of Japan. I bought mine on ebay from a Japanese seller (cool japan). It cost quite a bit less too. I highly recommend getting the soft nib option too.

Been a busy day for me pen-wise:

Boston Safety (flex nib) -- Noodler's Kung Te Cheng

Pelikan M400 (F nib) -- De Atramentis Van Dyck Brown

Parker 61 (M nib) -- diluted unknown black ink

Parker 45 (OF or OM nib) -- diluted Califolio Gris de Payne

Pilot Decimo (F nib) -- Iroshizuku Kon-peki

Pelikan 400 (OB nib) -- Diamine Terra Cotta

Some were pens that were being finished up, some were newly inked.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I'm a day late here, but on Friday, I was using my brand new JinHao x750, which also happens to be my first Chinese pen (so I took it to work and turned it into a wage slave for the day)

Very nice for a $7 pen.

I'm using my new (birthday present from my husband) Kaweco Liliput. It's the fire blue with EF nib. Diamine Blue Velvet ink looks great with the varying blue/copper tones. I did the flush with soapy warm water and the pen worked from the get-go. It's a pleasure to write with; it's the current favorite and will come to many meetings to do its work! Very pleased with the pen. I also got a fine nib in case the EF was too scratchy or had poor flow. Not the case here though.

~ A 1950s Pelikan 400 Tortoise OF inked in Montblanc William Shakespeare Velvet Red.

The slender strokes it produces are ideal for a project on which I'm working.
