What Pen Are You Waiting For In The Mail 2018

Thanks! What is a 55 ? lol. There's a parker 51 (I think) that everyone seems to love. I just got notified that my pens have shipped via Royal Air Mail (putting royal in front of it makes it sound like the best thing ever lol- I'm expecting some butler to deliver it to my front door driving a limo, or maybe a hellicopter- the pens will be on a velvet pillow or something) lol. Hope you get your pen today!

LOL. I like the video. And your 55 is a Waterman's 55 I'm assuming. Looks nice! Glad you got it - I hate when I'm expecting something to be delivered and then it doesn't come that day. Nice pen work there! I'm looking forward to finding out if I could do something like that lol. (supposed to be here by Feb.9) Is the second number (5) the size of the nib? Is that Waterman's naming system ? Is the first # meaningful in any way ?

"Waterman's 55 I'm assuming..."?! Obviously my pen work isn't that nice, as I thought I'd written that in giant letters across the middle of the paper!

 

The second 5 is the size of the nib (vast majority of Waterman's nibs being 2), and the first 5 denotes lever filler, I think, from Waterman's naming system from 1917 to the mid-30s (I think that's when they started phasing it out). Note that Waterman's No 2 nibs aren't necessarily the same sizes as other companies'.

I am waiting for an ASA I Can fountain pen. It will be my first Indian pen and my first Ebonite pen. I ordered the optional German nib (medium). I don't expect it to arrive for a couple of months but for $38 shipped it should be worth the wait.

Just got word from the reseller -- my Decimo was going in the mail today! So hopefully I will have it before the end of next week (assuming that the weather doesn't do horrid things to highways between VA and here, that is...).
