What Pen Are You Waiting For In The Mail 2018

I eagerly await a Peyton Street Penworks prototype pen in plum, fitted with a cursive italic nib ground by Nivardo Sanchez.

I appreciate the fact that so many artisans are crafting one-of-a-kind and small-batch pens, but most of them are too flamboyant for me, and I'm happy that Peyton Street Pens is producing some that are less bright and cheerful. (They also have cheerful ones, but I am grateful for the more sober options.)

These two are on there way back home after a visit to mainstreetpens.

They are in the state and will arrive tomorrow.

The pens came back home, but took off again. I was home when they showed up but I was napping. When I go to town before the post office closes

and after the pens get done delivering the mail and back at the post office. I will have them back home later today...

I am feeling somewhat guilty for my purchase, but not for the money spent (it was quite a good deal at around 60 euro for unused condition) but for the fact that the pen in the mail is an R200 Pelikan

fpn_1536272771__pelikan_r200_blue_marble

so, not a fountain pen :o

ok, knowing it's a rollerball and not a ballpoint does make me feel somewhat better, but I admit this is my first rollerball.

so why?

Well I do have one of those Muji disposable rollerballs that stays in my office backpack and is intended to be a backup in case of need and in case of the dreaded moment when use of a fountain pen is "not allowed" (some type of administrative signatures, tracing paper, etc).

The Muji pen does it's job, but I happened to think more than once that perhaps I should get a nicer looking rollerball...

Well this R200 is nicer looking, and when closed, cannot be distinguished from a fountain pen... :D

Turning the corner to Autumn so I'm thinking grays and browns and bronzes.

I have just received the long awaited parcel from UK (London) containing 76 vintage fountain pens (including 24 P51s and 21 English aero Duofolds mostly Maxima and Seniors). Parker Duofold Big Reds, Croxleys, Summits, Burnhams, Mentmores, Waterman 52s, Waterman Juniors (Canada), Waterman W5s, Swans, Pelikan 400NNs, Parker Petits/Pastels, Parker 65 Consorts, Parker 61s and a few Sheaffers are some of the other pens. I see hectic schedule restoring and resacing the pens for the next few months.

Very much used Lamy Nexx with a cute pink cap. I don't mind the state of the nib, I have a spare here if it's really unusable.

I have one just like this--you'll love it.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I just ordered a cheep architect grind #6 nib and a four pack of fake Lamy nibs, I want to try the architect grind and the others are for me to try making my own grind for fun, might try and make a small stub, if not my own architect nib for my safari.
