Kwz Ink Walk Over Vistula (Spacer Nad Wisłą)

Here we are the last one of the new KWZI Places of Poland trio. I saved my favourite one for the last! Check out my other reviews of Warsaw Memories and Baltic Memories.

These three inks are made partly in response to the demand of sheen. For me I love these inks not because of the sheen, but because they have very good flow and lubrication. It's a joy to write with them.

Walk over Vistula is a bright blue ink, with green undertone. It can look similar to Baltic Memories, especially written with a wet pen or a finer nib. If you do a swab, you can see that Vistula is much bluer, while Baltic is greener and has a grey undertone.

As the other two, Vistula dries a bit slowly. If you are putting a lot of the ink on paper, like in drawing or splashing, the dry time could be quite long.

Splash

(With so much ink on paper, it looks extremely similar to Baltic Memories. Compare the splash of Baltic Memories here.)

Sample

(Just like Baltic Memories, it's not water resistant, but it leaves a faint grey line.)

(on Tomoe River, with the other two. See how similar the blues look with a finer nib, but you can tell the difference from the swab.)

Sheen

(My Rhodia paper kind of eats up the sheen. It's more visible on Tomoe River.)

Comparison

(With some other blues and teals. The paper is 80g Clairefontaine copy paper. I should point out that my camera often has trouble picking up these blue green colours. To my eyes the image turns out bluer than what I see.)

Miscellaneous

Vistula is my favourite of the three. Because...

Wow beautiful review and ink! I might have to look into the KWZ inks. Is baltic memories just a tad darker then this one?

Edit: A tad darker when written not the swab hahah.

This is so cool! It looks like some awesome nebula or something. Did you do this with bleach?

  • 9 months later...

I have not had issues cleaning this ink, but I also haven't left it in a pen for extended periods of time--probably around a month at maximum.
