Grail Omas On Order!

I've fulfilled a pen bucket list item tonight my friends! I've been actively bidding on/searching for an Omas Titanium Paragon in bronze PVD for 6 months now. There's a seller on eBay that seems to have several of these but with the diamond encrusted cap band. He has the listed buy it now for an insane price but every few months, he'll put one up on auction no reserve. I've been tracking prices to plan my bids accordingly but prices just keep going up exponentially! Pen emporium has one of these listed without the diamond cap band for a fixed price but they want about the last sale price for one with a diamond band. Crazy! I got an email the other day from Bryant Greer (Chatterley Luxuries) about what's on sale......I dread these emails but love them at the same time! There were no less than 4 pens on my list at insane low prices. I was surprised to see the Omas I had been looking for on sale! The price was hundreds less than Pen emporium. I just about fell out of my chair! I immediately got a hold of Bryant and made a great deal. Great guy to work with! I'm really excited about this pen! I feel I caught it right before they became unattainable at any reasonable price! No plans to sell, just write!

Someday the mountain might get em but the law never will.........

Congratulations  !!! It is a very elegant fountain pen. Hope to enjoy it !!!

The pics of the actual pen had a brief video clip to them (live iPhone image) and the reflections of the facets look incredible in the light! Can't wait for this pen

Patience is the key to getting any fountain pen.

Congratulations. :notworthy1:

I failed with my grail pen, I was willing to go up to e750 for a Soennecken 111 Extra, in Herringbone. The 750 was 250 more than I had seen some 4 or so years before. E500 then or E350 for the Lizard.....Lizard never drew me like the herringbone. Some poster, passed I think, in her photo's don't show up, had all six. Envy is a monster with six inch claws, hiding under a four leaf clover.

Some pirate had 'Buy Now Idiot' for E900 for a black herringbone one. Of the six herringbone colors I had my eye on three.

The money burnt a hole in my pocket after 'only' six months; so I ended up with a flock of Pelikans including pen stand. Including a 500 and matching tortoise 400. The '50-54 tortoise was lighter than '90's or modern.

Being retired, such saving will not come again. :( However I do now have a 500. :)

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Congratulations! Bryant is a major enabler for me. The Bronze is even better in person than the pictures. You’re gonna love it.

Congratulations.

Obtaining a dream pen at a good price is one of life's little pleasures...and then you get to write with it. :)

  • 4 weeks later...

congrats on your Omas

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Grats on finding your grail!

I can relate to your experience with the emails, I get a weekly newsletter from Walipens but I only occasionally go through the whole thing - too many beautiful pens, Aurora and OMAS, Montblanc and Parker, many vintage pens from gone-and-forgotten Italian makers.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Nice grail!

Congrats

For me would be an Arco green or a Arco with the vermeil cap.

I would love to have either, or both, of those in my Omas collection. I bid on a green arco about a year ago but hesitated to make a 100% effort as the nib was in XF. That was a mistake on my part. That Pen sold for less than I paid for my brown arco and I suspect the green arco is more rare these days.
