I used to call this "outlining" or "edging", but "halo-ing" sounds cooler. Another typical halo-ing ink is Ancient Copper.

Not too sure of that House Divided though. I don't see much of halo-ing. I think they are just using feathering (IMO a lack of quality) as a selling-point.

House Divided, it is an intriguing ink...

On the swap card you see the light blue feathering.

Another interesting aspect of this ink is shown in the writing with the Pelikan, it is kind of railroading within the ink.

If you enlarge the picture you can see it clearly.

I like a lot of the Noodler's inks, but they are definitely a breed apart.

Thanks for putting a bunch of these in the same place; I love haloing inks for writing. The combination of shading and haloing is a lot of fun. I think among all my inks, Himeajisai (Kobe 57) is my favorite halo-er.

I've only experienced halo-ing with one ink, in one pen. That was KWZ Grapefruit. I was using it a Parker Vector, where it laid down very thick, almost like enamel model paint, with an even coating of silver sheen. Then I tried it in my M300 and the silver outlined the orange line with a halo effect.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

It has to be really really thick. Of course on a scan you cannot really see it, but the cotton swap at the bottom with three layers shows (some) sheen.
