Stop Spilling Ink

I like to put an old bath cloth on the table and open the bottle on it, so any spills or dips are absorbed by the cloth. Many bottles have to be tilted at some point to get the nib far enough into the ink to fill the pen so just tacking it down onto the table would not work well for them (for me).

I use an empty Diamine bottle to hold vials for filling. (It's the old style bottle, I haven't seen one of the new style ones yet.) The neck is just the right diameter to hold it upright, and it's just deep enough, too.
