Are Im's Practical As General Used Fountain Pens?

Hi!!

When I'm at office, I use a pair of desktop fountain pens. A Whal-Eversharp resin body, onyx holder base from the 1940's and a Eversharp ebonite body, marble holder base from the 1930/1940. Both has 14 kt gold medium semiflex nibs and lever filler (fill pens it's for me a sacred moment). Both are very comfortable for longer writing.

I bought the first one in e-bay in 2013 for $ 65.00 US Dlls plus shipping to Mexico City. The other one was used by my mother. I alternate use each day both pens. It had been very practical, because I took the pen very easy from the holder, you don't need to remove the cap from the barrel and I never loss the pens in the desk, as happened with BIC pens. Also, desktop fountain pens are decorative items.

When I'm out office, I use a Pelikan Souveran M-805. It's medium/large pen, but it attract people attention. I was saving many months in order to get the money to buy it. It's not comfortable to use when in office or for longer writing.

Best regards.

Jorge.

I noticed the tops of the caps could differ (similiarly like tassies). So I could guess the simple concave top was the "first" one as it being a feature of the 1960s made 45s?

(While my 1996 made 45 pencil has a circular edge around with no jewel).

I attach two photos.
