For some reason, I'm drawn towards entries #2 and #5 .

They're definitely your kind of pens. ;) :cloud9:

I wanted to toss a quick writing sample in here for all the folks wondering, How can you write with big nibs? The paper is in my Paperblanks journal.

Ghost Plane, thank you for the writing samples. Would it be fair to say that Montblanc B, BB, and B Oblique nibs adapt to relatively small / narrow page space?

All it takes is a little practice. I’m using the 1.5 stub on even narrower lines in a notebook on my desk.

I suspect those who have difficulties might be trying to use them on highly absorbent paper or low quality inks that feather and bleed horribly.

Thank you. For the past few years I have been using the Montblanc notepads (06711) and the quality of paper is comparable with Rhodia or Clairefontaine. I am planning to get a B or BB stub for my new Solitaire Lit. Prince. Currently I have medium nib but am sure a bigger nib would an interesting experience.

I've been using the dot grids with the bb nibs and have less childhood school days guilt about the necessity of keeping within the lines.

Thank you so much for explaining the background of your very special BB nib.

If it's ever convenient and comfortable for you, may I please ask for a photo of the full “Hamburg Special Edition” nib?

It would be a treasure to have such an image in this thread, as that's a nib which is seldom seen.

*********************************************************************************************

After reading the information which you kindly shared, I looked for further recent examples of Montblanc pens commemorating features of cities.

This is a topic far from my experience, therefore I've been ineffective in uncovering much of interest.

Following are a few models about which I've known little or nothing.

1. Montblanc Meisterstück Les Splendeurs de Paris

2. Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Elbphilharmonie

3. Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Hamburg

4. Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Fall of the Berlin Wall

5. Montblanc Meisterstück 149 Teatro Alla Scala

The first pen appears to be a cartridge/converter of Classique-size.

The fourth pen is red gold.

I appreciate your describing your nib, Memorexx, as it opened the door to knowing about these other special edition pens.

There was also the "Yes we can" edition of like 100 MB 149s with that phrase engraved in the cap to celebrate the inauguration of Obama as US President.

That's exactly the kind of fountain-pen-in-action image which I most enjoy seeing.

One can't go wrong with a rose gold OBBB. Thank you for posting the photo here.

I've never written with Montblanc Oyster Grey. Maybe it's time to purchase a bottle?

I tend to like pale inks, perhaps because a faded look reminds me of old documents.

However, with time I'm learning to appreciate more saturated colors.

Both Montblanc Oyster Grey and Montblanc Toffee Brown remain on my list of untried inks.

With the Northern Hemisphere summer coming, it may be time to consider those inks.

May I please add my voice to the comments ofboth meiers and Ghost Plane?

I've had no difficulty whatsoever in adapting any broader nib to restricted writing space.

Even the four OBBB nibs on my writing table are easily used in limited space.

As Ghost Plane has noted, it's a matter of practice, which is part of the enjoyment of using high quality fountain pens.

Thank you for asking this essential question.

Those lines were meant to be lightly danced around, with sinuous curves and spattered droplets all flung about with careless abandon!

~ Hi, Feamat!

Wow! This is terrific!

Adding this category of Special Editions to your masterful comprehensive list will add another dimension to understanding Montblanc releases.

Thank you for noting the other Special Editions, none of which I knew about.

You're educating me.

These pens represent Montblanc quality crafted into pens for market segments in various areas of the globe.

If all goes well, I hope to eventually acquire one of these Special Editions.

Your careful labor in preparing your list is appreciated by everyone who reads it.

Great post as always, thank you Tom. Curiosity: Did the students perform as well as the pens? :)
