Thanks for sharing your collection, Tom. It's a wonderful set of pens.

Best wishes, CS

Thank you so much for the Swan Mabie Todd handwriting above.

That's a most welcome sight in this thread.

It may be (if local customs authorities relent) that a 30th Montblanc fountain pen might arrive next month.

If so, it would be a 10th 149, in one of the nib categories listed above where heretofore there's been no 149.

The 149s have been reliable writers from the first one, a late 1980s M, to the most recent, the 1959 BBB.

Happy writing to you in 2019!

Tom K.

It appears the new age of fountain pens begins.

An interesting note in the discussion to the second article:

"Something oft overlooked in favor of fountain pens: They are environmentally superior! If you fill from a bottle there is nothing to throw away. Disposable pens are discarded in the millions."

Tom, congratulations to your great new old pens from pre-Richemont era!

Hi Tom. Hope you had great Christmas holidays, and Yubi too. :)

What a magnificent nib there with some impressive line variation. Looks like you acquired some incredible vintage Montblancs lately. Very nice!

Your impressive collection is especially interesting for all the specialty nibs it contains that are not normally seen. As you know, I'm fascinated by those needle nose EEFs, although the skill you display wielding the super-wide nibs brings out the full range of those nib's potential.

I can't imagine what you'd add to your collection in 2019, but I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Is there anything in this world more satisfying than a perfectly tuned broad nib when putting ink to paper?

BB and BBB nibs are included!

I love this thread!

Some of my pens.
